So, you're of the opinion that Haloti Ngata does NOT have little pieces of Slauson still stuck in his cleats??
Well I stated Leonhard had a fairly decent game on defense but he got the nod due to his punt returns which gave the inept offense excellent field position.
Rex said he thought Slauson played well, except for the one bad play...and that was the only play I noticed him make a poor one.
I thought Ellis again had a solid game. WIth Jenks done, Sean is critical, and it's a good thing he's playing well. This guy has been the most consistent player on the team since he came to it. I have never been able to fathom the negativity he gets from some, thankfully only a few. Revis also played well, as did Mangold. Nobody else played that great, imo.
I thought Bryan Thomas played a good game and you couldn't be more unsung than Bryan Thomas.. I didn't know who it was until I remembered the number change/
I miss the days of John Hall where he used to kick the ball into the end zone on every kickoff. Of course at the same time, whenever he kicked a fg you never knew if he'd kick it straight.
Steve Weatherford undoubtedly kept us in the game. He gets my vote. Conversely, we need a new Left Guard. Sanchez is going to break his leg soon.
For some reason I always overlook or take for granted Shaun Ellis, he has been with us now 11 years and has been the model for stability. From 2003 season thought the 2004 season he had 23.5 sacks too. 7 more sacks he'll be our all time sack leader, I hope he gets it too. (actually 6 more now) In his 11 year career he's only missed about 4-5 games which is pretty damn impressive. I just convinced myself to by his Jersey, I certainly don't see enough of them, or maybe a Big Katt jersey. He only started 3 games his rookie year and recorded 8.5 sacks, most by any Jet rookie besides Hugh Douglas. He's 33 now and if he plays for 2 more years he'll likely have the Jets sack record, do you think the Jets will retire his number? (sorry for the rant)
He could have the sack record this or next year. He just keeps the same level of play every year and its a luxury to have such a constant. Replacing him won't be easy.
Slauson is no different than putting a rookie 1st rounder at LG and taking the same lumps. They are going to happen.
Is switching the left and right guards unprecedented? Sanchez would at least see it coming, maybe be able to run away.
its a possibility, but I think we'd be hurting Moore and Slauson if that happened. We have to understand that Slauson is going to make mistakes, its just going to happen.
