    Slam!!!

You bring up a good point... Mainly, how will any of these Chad/Jet fans feel if/when their man gets sacked, slammed and thrown around by the Jets defense? Are they going to cry foul? Or will they celebrate with the rest o us?

Huh? Chad Pennington is "smarter" than Bret Favre?

What exactly makes Chad "smarter" than Bret?

This statement makes YOU sound DUMB!

Pennington's 3.75 GPA as a Broadcast Journalism major qualified him as a Rhodes Scholar finalist.

    Duh.

Dude what are you smoking, you're the one who sounds like an idiot. Brett is not known for his brains while Chad is. Hence he's smarter.

Rhodes Scholar? Bwah hah hah hahhh!

Oh yeah, so this makes him "football smart?"

Favre is basically seen by most NFL experts as "football smart."

Chad? Well, he used to be football smart... That is, before he began to throw interceptions and lose games.

If having a high IQ made you good at sports then no one would have ever heard of Yogi and Bill Clinton would have been a football QB instead of a president. So please stop your bad jokes.

    "Duh" indeed...

You're an idiot and a troll. Nice combination.

Chad has always been an incredibly smart, accurate, QB. He just doesn't have the arm to execute the same passes.

Brett Favre is a gunslinger, you dipshit. Meaning he just goes out there and has some fun with it. Have you ever watched a football game?

Yeah, I know the whole "Chad is so smart!" crap.

If he's so smart, then how did he go 1-7 last year?

Why didn't he "elevate his teammates?"

Let's not forget that, outside of Pete Kendall, Chad's teammates last year were pretty much as they were the year before (when they went 10-6 and made the playoffs). And even Kellen Clemens had a better record than Chad with the same group. So if Chad is so smart, exactly why did the team perform so badly?

Oh yeah, that's right. That is the question all of you Chad supporters dance around. It's the bare fact you ignore.

And what'd did that dumb old Brett Favre do last year?

Yeah, I guess the Jets don't stand a chance against the big, bad Dolphins this year.

And when it comes to smoking? I'll have whatever your close and personal friend Ricky is smokin'. That dude knows his buds!

Our secondary will be licking their fingers waiting for Chad. We get to see what all the competition was getting last year. Can you say eight in the box and safeties playing up close.

I have a feeling the first play will be a bomb (hah) from Chad to try and show us the Jets were wrong. It might go all of 40 yards with the wind behind it.

It depends if we can stop their running game. As bad as they were last year, Ronnie Brown had a pretty good game against us last year in the first meeting. 200+ total yards and 2 TDs. If he gets going like that, we could be in trouble. We all know that Chad can win games when his team can move the ball on the ground. He does really well in 2nd/3rd & short. I don't like his chances, but you never know.

I wasn't happy with his play for our team, but that is not to say that he can't play. I think he would've been better off signing with Minnesota, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

See? I am not alone in my opinion.

So go join he Miami Dolphins message board.

Chad was Great! In his first few years with the team. Lately, he became an anchor. Recently he became a cancer! But no one wants to notice that. They prefer to remember the rookie who looked so good!

And if you don't like hearing that? Please go root for the 'Fins (who I hate more than any other NFL team since I've been watching the Jets since the Marino years and learned to understand heartbreak).

It's called physical limitations...otherwise Troy Aikman would be starting right now.

Whoah! Then do you admit that Pennington is finished? And that no amount of smarts will keep him from the NFL's scrap heap? And that the Jets were smart to "jettison" him? And that the Brett Favre move might work out?

Or do you still think that Chad'sBrain was going to save the day for the Jets this year?

Honest, I am not trying to be flip, but I am trying to understand all this Pennington support when in my eyes, he lost it a few years ago... I mean, look, I rooted for the guy when he started and all, but when Mangini started him last year, and he went 1-7? Well, I would have pulled him after 1-3... So I cursed the two of them!

Do you honestly think this guy has anything left?

My original post was regarding your response to junc's assertion that Chad is smarter than Burt.

I think most any sports fan with even cursory knowledge of the two QBs would agree that Chad is smarter than Burt. It is not even a contest.

My second response to you was just to point out that there is more than merely smarts to being a good NFL QB, otherwise we'd have a bunch of over 40 dudes in starting roles.

Do I think that Penny's smarts give the dolphins the edge over us in September? NOT EVEN REMOTELY! The Fins suck and Chad can't throw...not to mention that they have no line.

That however, was not the point of our discussion. The point was, "Is Chad smarter than Burt?". That's a no-brainer. Your use of Chad's performance with no protection to prove otherwise is just silly as there are other factors to proper QB execution than just "smarts".

If you're gonna start arguments with blind Chad-fans (and if you've been paying attention at all on this board, you'd know I am not among them), then I would suggest that you at least address the issues as they come instead of coming at people with a predetermined argument that may or may not fit within the parameters of the discussion.

You need to get on the phone with Mangini IMMEDIATELY and let him know this. He may not be aware of it yet.

You know Belicheat is probably already on the phone with Chad...

He's like, "Hey Chad, you give me their offensive plays and signals and I'll give you all of their defensive information."

Smart dashes? I'm not sure I follow. All I'm saying is that players change teams all the time. Just look at the players who have shuttled around the AFC east over the last few years. Not a big deal, and one the coaches have likely addressed already.

Also, before he starts divulging the Jets offense to the Phins, Chad needs to spend some time absorbing an entire new system, or is that only a hinderance for Brett Favre?

what the hell is this poll? Do you not think there might be a few other options in this scenario? Come on man.....2 Nos and a Yes? Hmmm....what about "Yes, he has a shot but I don't think they will win. Think man, geez.

There's an enormous difference between giving him a shot and saying he will win.
