But he's so fun to watch when he gets through. I think we're all just still spoiled from the c-mart era.
lol. least weve all found a common ground. so basically your critiques on greene are more based on peoples willingness to trade jones away without greene having proved anything? that mindset i can agree with. i love greene as a prospect but jones is good for at least this year than ship him or renegotiate cause he will not be worth 6.5mil next yr or whatever it is we all know the jets arent planning on paying him. thats literally leons salary next yr. plus dont we still need to lock up mangold for an extension or has that been done and im oblivious? although me and abyzmul apparently think greene will be better than you do. who knows for the sake of the jets lets hope he is.
Actually my critique of Greene is the reason we shouldn't trade TJ away just yet. I hope he turns into that monster player, because for me seeing a RB punish people is about the coolest thing to watch on offense.
I don't advocate trading Jones this year either but we certainly won't be paying Washington 5 million, Jones 6.9 million and Greene whatever he gets paid next year. If they could get something of value in return it wouldn't be the worse thing to do to trade him.
I don't think that anybody disagrees with this, but there really is no good reason to trade Jones at this point in the year. They aren't going to get fair value for him with this little time for a potential trading partner to install him into their offense, so why not just keep one of the most productive backs in the league for 1 more year? Cut him loose in the offseason.
no i was agreeing with you, maybe i just worded it wrong. im saying you sensed a consensus that people were wanting to trade TJ and rely on an unproven Greene. and im saying i understand your take on that. nothing more nothing less
I agree about next year, but I would not move Jones now because anyting of value you get for him is hurting our depth for this comming season. Unless he's part of a package for another player I would not want to move him.
And if he's still productive this year and Greene does turn out to be a bust, there still may be a little left in his tank for next season if they can work out the financials for everyone. I just don't see TJ going anywhere at this point. If Greene is supposed to be used in short yardage, late in the day and in goal line situations, then we actually need TJ as our #1 back, since we have no way of knowing if Leon or Greene are up to being every-down backs.
For a QB not to be named starter is not looking good for the QB who has been there the longest. If any rookie pushes the said competetion enverlope, the push goes to the rookie.
the ravens d is far better than ours. we'll see how he responds or how long they leave him in. i think it also might be possible that clemens simply isnt an impressive practice player. but someone who thrives on live action. thats just an opinion. only time will tell. but i do agree with where your going with that. but the fact it got pushed back is more telling of sanchez finally looking like a rookie and maybe rex realizes he needs to put his hard on away and see sanchez prove something against the ravens. like i said, just my opinion.
It's really hard to go by just a couple of series in the pre-season or any game, really. One guy drops a pass, a holding penalty or something kills the posession and that's it. Whoever is named the starter for the first game, I don't think the process ends there. When the real games start it will be a lot more telling.
