I know I've come up with that reference pondering all the different name twists too. I suppose great minds thinking alike is another random cliche to toss in.
OK, I didn't want to make this post, but I have to, because it's just something I think needs to be said. I really don't think that PennyandtheJets should be chosen as the new moderator. Nothing against him personally, and I wouldn't have even brought it up, but I think what I believe is felt by others, so I want to get it in the open. 1. Maturity. When I look at the mods here, there are only a couple that I really take seriously. Mostly the older guys who, when they make a decision, I understand, and respect it, even if I do not agree with it. Also, like I said in my previous post in this thread, they have a way of keeping themselves above the action. Based on my limited understanding, Penny's last tour as a mod ended after a disagreement with another poster that led to his resigning. Even if he was right, the fact that it got to that level really concerns me. 2. His continued bashing of RobA. I get it, RobA might be a tool, and have horrible opinions on many things, but much of the abuse is just unwarrented. There's a strong line between funny, and unneccessary, and that was crossed a long time ago. 3. The biggie, the prodding I needed to make this post, the PM to vote for Penny as a mod, that I'm sure the rest of the board received. Modship should be chosen on merits and value to the board, not on votes from the peanut gallery. I'd hope that instead of making a poll like last time, the existing mods just discuss amongst themselves who the choice should be. Flat out, I'd rather a group of trusted individuals make the decision than have it turn into a free for all. Again, no offense to Penny as a poster or a human being, I just needed to get that out there.
I appreciate the nominations. Sure, I'd do it. Why not?! As long as I could (a) still needle Raiderjeaux with impunity, and (b) have privileges with the several female posters on the board. I'd also support any of the following candidates: Buttleman 10Pennington10 Soss 17a Screwy idea, but I also think Dirtywater would be an interesting mod choice. abyzmul and 3rdand15 would just be funny to watch in action.
DW would be an interesting choice, he is a very good poster and was more or less the poster who brought the idea that became the graphics forum
This is utterly embarrasing. Campaigning to be a Mod? Doesn't get much lower than that. I can't believe this.
Seeing as how that some posters are trying to fix this election maybe it would be best for the Admins/Mods to decide. Maybe Mack only barely won last time just because he was too much a great choice. Who knows eh?
PennyandtheJets will NOT be in this poll, as he emailed quite a few people asking them to vote for him.....
I say penny ? I just looked at his platform and he promises three day suspensions for any spelling determined to be sub third grade. This board will be flying with the six guys left on it
