Well if you want to really know if it is mediocre or not you have to find out what all the other teams record is over a 10 year stretch. I would say without doing that being 10 games over .500 would put us in the upper 3rd of teams over that stretch which is not mediocre & certainly not laughingstock..
In all seriousness...what the fuck do I care what OTHER teams in the league are up to? I'm sure other teams are mismanaged as badly as the Jets...SO WHAT? I care about THIS team...not THAT team. Tell me...why do I have to watch almost every year as the Jets come into a seaons with high expectations and the Giants come in with no expectations and watch us finish 6-10 and the Giants win their division and some playoff games... To me it's all about CULTURE and it starts at the top...and the owners of the Jets have always been guys that have owned the team for the "fun of it"
I knew we had a 4-12 last year, and a couple of really bad years with Kotite, but off the top of my head I could not remember much beyond. Losing sucks, and I sympathize for folks who have avidly followed the team longer than I. However, you cannot really do anything about it aside from change your fave team; sacrilege, I know. For me, after some venting I choose to accept it for what it is. If I could do something personally to change it, I would, but I cannot. I have come to agree the same about Herm, he will do well with teams that have decent rosters, but possibly never well enough to go the distance. Nevertheless, we had some chances in those years, and I would much rather see us with a chance than to see us perennially in the basement.
Parcells has not made the playoffs in 2 years and is 25-23 as a Cowboy coach. I never understood why people think he is a god. He had 1 good season as a Jets HC. He was 33-33 as a Pats HC.
Dimwit...he went 9-7 his first year...we were 1-15 the year before he went 8-8 with a basically a high school QB
Dude what NFL have you been watching over the last 10 years? Cause in the NFL I have been watching the Giants haven't had back to back winning seasons since 1997 and every year they have had any expectations they have fallen flat on there faces.
Ok so we are a 5-5 team. Meaning what. We are in playoff contention and forget about our schedule being easy. We played the colts and bears tough and those two are the elite teams in the nfl. So ok were not an elite team in the NFL but we are a playoff contending team. We beat the pats and they are consider to be a good team in the NFL. We also beat the titans, bills, dolphins, and detroit and ever since those wins our team have gotten better. Only lost we have thats disspointing is the browns but every team has a lost they wish they had back. In the beginning of the season we would be happy if we were at this point. We are in playoff contention everybody so that means we are a possible playoff caliber team. With a new young O-line, new coaches, new defensive scheme and without knowing who the hell our qb was going to be we are doing great. Regardless were just seasons away from being an elite team in the in NFL. Lets be supportive.
He's a very good coach. Most people are just sour because of the way the situation turned out here. He's led 1 team to 2 SB wins, the Pats to a SB and lost, turned our club around on a dime and got us a game away from the big show. That is pretty impressive in itself. Great coaches are going to have runs where they have a lot of success, but they are also going to have runs where they lose and do not do so well. Much like dynasties, coaches will rise and fall, just as their teams do.
Since you can not reply or debate anyone without lowering yourself to insults, you serve no purpose here.
that line in itself should point out that youre full of **** but just to make some sense of it...this is all in one mornings time that was just to get the ball rolling...im sure there will be more
