No other prospect that fills a need aside from OL or WR are worthy of the 6th.

    Edit: should have included IMO

Then O-line it is, it the most pressing need on the roster.

Cooper can fall to 6. What are you guys talking about it? Only team that has a chance of taking him before us is the Raiders.
    1st- MM
2nd- Winston (even if not winston tenn.is not taking a WR)
    3rd: Randy Gregory
    4th: Lenoard Williams
    5th: Brandon Scheff
    6th Cooper

Why would Tennessee not take a WR? Are they gone with Kendall Wright and Nate Washington? I think not.

Tennessee is taking a QB. They aren't taking a WR at 2.

I misread his post. You're both probably correct but if they believe in Mettenberger... why not give him he best weapon available?

I think Brandon Scherff and Ronald Stanley could be good OL options at 6. I'd guess that Amari Cooper will be there as well.

I look at Mettenberger and I see Danny Kanell. I do not see why they would not draft a QB where they are. Unless they hate Winston.

Cooper is getting comparisons to AJ Green. Why would Raiders, or Tenn not take him? Especially seeing how well Watkins performed and Cooper is better than him

Because why would you take a receiver at 2 overall when you can easily get a guy like DGB, Funchess, Coates, Greene, Montgomery, Diggs, etc later on?

Tenn needs a QB and Mariota and Winston are the guys, they have whiffed on so many QBs they can't settle for a Hundley or Grayson.

Three pro-bowlers were drafted after the 6th pick this year. None were drafted in the top 5. Also drafted outside the top 5 were Odell Beckham, Mike Evans, Anthony Barr, Kelvin Benjamin, Brandin Cooks and Kyle Fuller. Let's not act like we're doomed because we aren't picking three picks higher.

AJ Green comparison is way off. Cooper is a breed of his own like Watkins and ODB

Cooper will not be ODB, Watkins or Green -- he won't be even close.

    sad, but true

People feel more excited about Cooper since he's viewed as a potential game changer. WR is flashy, and we missed some good ones last draft.

For OT, guards are rarely taken that early, and we still have Ferguson. Breno is a bit sub-average to average as a RT. Not a super glaring need, but somewhere where we could use an upgrade. Do you take a RT at 6 overall? Maybe, though I don't know if that could help jolt us back to relevancy. If he was a great long term guy it'd be a great move of course. You probably need to get rid of Brick or Breno, and Brick still has 1 - 2 more good seasons left in him.

Many fans are looking for the Jets to transition towards being more of an offense oriented team, so that's also why they're looking mostly at offensive skill position players.

Personally, I just want someone who will be a very good player for a very long time. I'm fine with an OT... if he's the next Brick. If they think they see a Revis-lite, I'm fine with a CB, but if he's another Dee Milliner I have no interest. And we don't need another Coples or Pryor.

We need someone who can enter the league and start at or near a pro bowl level, because this is a top 10 pick. This is where you look for stars, and I think it's bad to draft for need with a top 10 pick, unless it's a QB you really believe in.

I'm sure that between now and the draft, some fortunes will change. Some players will get arrested, do poorly at the combine, or whatever. Some guys will have monster combines and get upgraded from a 2nd round prospect to a 1st or early 1st round prospect. So I don't pay too much attention to mock drafts at this point.

For now, I'm more interested in seeing who the Jets are able to hire as the new GM and HC, what their credentials and pasts are, and what strategy and changes they will implement.
