I hear you, but even still Geno is a lot better than Nassib. Although Ryan is an extremely tough runner, can take a hit and is mentally very tough. Doesn't have the arm talent that Geno has.

Yeah, can't wait for this draft.

I wouldn't label Geno a bust just yet.. The guy can't get any protection and he is throwing to Wal-Mart cashiers out there.

With that being said, I would draft a QB just for some competition. Can't hurt.

If we can't get Orakpo I would settle for Cushing.

As much as I like Cushing and he's a local HS legend from Bergen, he is way too injury prone to invest big money in. The Texans are learning the hard way that the guy just can't stay on the field. I'd take a pass.

You put Cook and Housler with Brady and Brees and they're not even close to as good as Graham and Gronk. The beauty of this is we'll never know about Cook and Housler :) But to just automatically assume they would be HOF caliber players like the other two is merely stretching and a pipe dream at best.

I went to the BC-Bosco state title game at the Meadowlands when he was a senior (Matt Simms was the Bosco QB) and Cushing was the best HS player I have ever seen that night. Made plays as a RB, LB, Safety, WR, KR--he scored, ran, had INTs, sacks, receptions--he was a man amongst boys.

But it's true, he's one of those guys that can't stay healthy.

I was there as well and I agree, he was the man among a lot of very other talented young men. One of the best HS football talents ever.

Yeah these problems have plagued him since his BC days. Same at USC where he was the Rose Bowl Co-MVP along with another Jersey boy in Dwayne Jarrett.

He just cant stay healthy which is a big problem and not the kind of guy you want to give big free agent money too. Way too much risk.

Hate to say it, but a lot of these guys rumored to have done steroids oftentimes are the guys constantly breaking down.

That was an incredible game--very close friend of the family played for Bosco, lived down the street from Matt. I think I first met Matt when he was about 13

Maybe they're not quite as good but they'd be surprisingly close. The qb absolutely matters. put Gronk on the rams or cardinals and he's a nobody stats wise. put Housler with an elite quarterback and he definitely would be putting up big numbers. his measurables are up there with these elite TE's so he has potential to be one in the right system, Cook I'd say is just good to very good. here's the formula: elite qb + elite te = monster stats. elite te + shitty qb = shitty stats. the problem is they're ignored weapons on their teams. Take Cook for example, week one he scored 2 (almost 3) tds and had like 140 yds. he's certainly capable of that level of production. you'd think they would try to involve him as a centerpiece of the gameplan after that right? no, he's had garbage for targets per game from then on. like wtf, can't do anything if they don't even target you. Anyway, the point is Graham and Gronk are beastly but don't expect nearly the same level of production if they were somehow on the Jets.

Im just wondering already..If we tank and go 7-9 or something like that and end up with a top 17 pick and Manziel is there ,do we take him?

Yes, maybe not AS beastly but they'd be monstrous numbers compared to Cumberland or Reuland or Winslow or baby Gronk.

    Or even Keller.

Those guys are pro-bowlers if they had me throwing to them.

No doubt about it. The Cush roid rumors have been swirling since HS. Shoot, I remember Matt Simms when he was a toddler. I used to ump Chris in little league baseball and ref him in travel team hoops. I also used to work out at the same gym with Phil for a few years in the late 90's. Very nice family.

No, not unless the best receiving options are all taken and he's BPA.

From what little I've seen of Manziel he seems like a guy that makes plays that'll work in college that won't work as well in the pros. as electric as he is in NCAA he's gonna have a tough time adjusting his style of play to the NFL and actually I can see him having just as may turnovers in the NFL as geno as a result.

not a bad prospect, but I'd rather get a young weapon for the future like Lee or Evans.

With Rex at the helm, you can rest assured it will be more defense just like every year. We need a WR, TE, and a QB ASAP.

If this were last year, I might agree with you.

He is so much more than he was last year. His attempts, completions and completion percentage from the pocket have skyrocketed since last year.

He still makes a ton of plays from outside the pocket but he has really made significant strides in being a pocket passer this year. And while I'm no expert and I've seen it myself, just about all the expert talking heads agree, his arm strength and his arn TALENT has improved by leaps and bounds this year.

He's a gunslinger and he's going to make mistakes, but not because of not being able to read defenses or locking on one receiver or being harried by a pass rush or a slow release--he's going to make mistakes based upon gambles. I'd rather that than the former.

On gameday I'm rooting 100% for a win but I'm kinda hoping this is what happens.
