I said this before. The Jets are only have 3 problems. 1) offense 2) Defense and 3) Special Team in all seriousness, defense is looking improved despite the injuries but Losing Mayne hurts. the team can’t get any worst IMO. They are already decimated by key injuries. They can go up but we’ll continue to see growing pains, The only surprises I have is I expected 5 wins. We probably won’t get that.
The Jets have a top 10 defense this year. All metrics point to that. We'll see if it holds. The Jets have very talented running backs and very talented wide receivers. We have a very talented young QB as well. It all needs to come together. Coaching needs to drastically improve and we need a few better prices on the offensive line. Again, I don't think we are too far off from it clicking
This team and coach will click. I agree but i don’t see being that soon. Losing Lawson hurts big time and am still sour grapes about it. But even if Wilson doesn’t panned out the team will indeed get better. If anyone was expecting playoffs this year, I would like to take what they are taking.
No one should expect this amount of dysfunction on offense this far. It's simply unacceptable by every possible standard. It's very obvious and not even remotely close to being okay.
Kudos to at least putting a #3 on there. You have no reason to number without a third reason but you made it acceptable. LaFleur is looking like an unmitigated disaster. He better come with the gameplan of a lifetime this week. No AJ Brown or Julio for the Titans and a bad defense that has gotten gashed all year is a recipe for a Jets game that should look like when the Jets won over your favorite Cowboys a couple years ago at home where they were missing both starting tackles.
Do other teams luck into these things? Take the Chargers, all reports out of camp were that Herbert was nowhere near ready to lead a team, game 1 QB goes down and boom here I am boys, think he has played 2 or 3 bad games, whilst putting up big numbers in most of the other games and now he is on his way to be a true FQB. 10th pick if memory serves.
Keep hearing "We had a great week of practice...Great week of practice...Great practice!!!" Maybe Lafleur should take some of those plays the team did a great job of practicing during the week and put a few of them in the actual game plan.
Being mad about the way it’s started is one thing. Calling for jobs 3 games in is just ridiculous and overly emotional IMO
I bet the Chargers CS put Herbert in a position to succeed. I remember he was bad against NE, but Bill makes rookie QB's look silly more often than not.
True. Some of these people need to write Woody a strongly worded letter to get it out of their systems. That’s said, LaFluer is a disaster at this point. It’s some of the most inept coaching I’ve ever seen and that’s saying something as a Jets fan. He doesn’t realize it because he lacks self awareness. That’s a big problem that can take a long time for a person to work through, if they’re even capable of it in the first place.
Of course it's ridiculous and overly emotional. That's the nature of being fans (short for fanatic) for those of us who are emotionally invested in the team. If one is not emotionally invested, it's easy to remaing objective and totally rational. We are fed up with the incompetence, sloppy play, bad coaching, etc. We expected some mistakes and sloppy play, but not total incompetence and the team getting worse, not better. It's not about the W-Ls, but protecting Zach, and the team not being a total embarrassment, and actually being at least competitive and making some progress. In spite of the snappy slogan, there has been no fire, no passion, no energy, and they have beaten themselves with mistakes and penalties.
So, you're saying the problem is not with the team, coaches and management at all, but with the desire or need of some fans to deal in fantasy rather than reality proven for fifty years? You got yourself to that place, who do you want to bail you out? There were people here who tried to warn you about such attitudes but you not only blew them off, you attacked them for not sharing in your Kool-Aid.
Hope, then Hype, then reality. When another losing season ends and we are once again in misery, the shuffle in and out of coaches and players begins…glimmers of hope. This is followed by free agency and the draft. Hope is throttled up! Then comes OTAs mini camps and the beginning of Hype. Pronouncements of great team building and player development. Rookies are advertised as saviors. Hype full throttle. Then comes the regular season…reality. This is what you really got Jet fans.
I love when fans use the definition of the word fanatic to justify their irrational behavior, as if it were some shield from personal accountability.
The main problem is fans are taking out 50 plus years of frustration on Saleh, LaFleur, Wilson, JD. I hope for once ownership is not impacted by fan outcry and let them build this team the right way.
