I dunno about that. I saw fans leaving early in the 4th quarter and when the game was within a TD and we were driving, there were packets of red in the lower bowl.
Eh, for once I can't even blame them. Did anyone honestly believe we had a shot to come back? We managed a couple field goals all day, and couldn't even be flawless doing that. There's just nothing to watch. I've been a Jets fan a long time, and even during the Kotite era I was never this apathetic during a fourth quarter. I don't even care anymore. I get up and go to the bathroom during possessions rather than waiting for commercials now. (Granted, I have the DVR, so I can rewind if something were to amazingly happen, but still.) There's nothing to get excited over. Our team is garbage. I don't blame guys for wanting to avoid traffic after that crapfest.
So now it is ok for fans to leave early and only cheer when something good happens? It was pretty much the same crowd as it was when this original thread was made. Half empty at kickoff, loud at times & almost completely emptied out midway through the 4th quarter in a 7 point game.
It was far louder during the game yesterday man. Don't give me this "it was the same crowd" bullshit. Should people be coming in late and leaving early, of course not. However, this week, I can accept the leaving early a lot more, considering that now, a few weeks after the original post, we know this team has no shot to come back. Back then, there was no reason to believe that. Whatever. I was trying to be cool about it. I called out people when I thought it was warranted, and I felt I should do the opposite when appropriate. You don't like it? Oh well, it's still America.
In all fairness, the only thing more predictable than that yesterday was that Chad would throw a pick at some point. hmy:
No shot to comeback? We had a 2nd and 1 at the 4 yard line with just over 3 minutes left in the game and the place was empty. As for it being far louder, that is just completely false. It was the same crowd, loud at times but deflated after giving up a bunch of 3rd down conversions. It wasn't Arrowhead yesterday either.
Where have you been. Weren't you looking for me after the Dolphins game? What do you have to say now? Either way Im just as disgusted as you.
I'm always here & no i wasn't looking for you after the Dolphins game. I did disagree with your constant bashing on Chad though. What can I say? He has now proven that his lack of physical skills have become too much for him to overcome. I'm dissapointed that injuries have robbed another promising Jets player, just as any Jets fan should be.
Whatever. I'm not going to sit here and argue with you all day about this. I said what I needed to say, end of story.
As much as I dislike him as a Qb I am sorry to see him go out like this. Unfortunately It is almost time for us to look for the draft 2008 threads.
It's amazing, I had so much hope and enthusiasm before the season started, and now I'm just lethargic on Sundays. I have lost all hope for this season. It sucks.
Fair enough, there really isn't anything to argue about anyway. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of this thread.
Totally agree. The crowd has always been the same, but I guess different networks and broadcasts give the couch complainers different views. Who knows. I've been doing games for so long that it's hard to take these things seriously, although I did somewhat question my own sanity yesterday though. As I was leaving my house yesterday morning I looked up at the pitch black, star filled sky and thought about what a beautiful day it was going to be. When I returned that evening, I again looked up at the black somewhat cloudy sky and asked myself if I was nuts. I just dedicated over 12 hours of my life to a team that seems to be going nowhere. Luckily for me the answer continues to be no, I am not nuts. I had a wonderful time yesterday. The weather was beautiful, I hung out with wonderful friends, eating the best cuisine. I then got to sit outside and watch a football game with friends and family, that although was full of mistakes and miscues, was still close at the end and we had a chance to win. After the game, more BBQing and socializing about the current situation with this team. All around good day. I've been to upward of 200 games in my life, and was at every home game of the 1-15 debacle, and as the team begins to struggle again I will continue to be at every game. I wish more people would try it and see what they are missing on game days rather than just complaining about others...
I am with you and my situation is almost exactly as yours. I have one question though. Why were people leaving during the middle of the 4th quarter trailing by 7? Now, I leave games early when the outcome is not in question but these people I do not need there. Everyone has a right to do whatever they please, but at least be somewhat interested in the outcome.
For all you who questioned why Alio started this thread and wonder why YOU should make noise; look now further than todays loss. WE HAD A BAD SNAP AT MIDFIELD BECAUSE THE BENGAL FANS WERE SO LOUD THAT THEY PREVENTED MANGOLD FROM HEARING THE AUDIBLE. It likley cost us the game. So much for crowd noise is meaningless. How about instead of throwing paper airplanes on the field you cheer for the team that you spend 1500 dollars a seat for.
i agree that the crowd can be weak, but when your favorite team gives you ageda every week with shit coaching and shit play, how can you expect support. only a pussy would support such constant kicks to the groin by the organization. give us a reason to cheer damnit. and as far as the leaving early goes, inexcusable. i dont care where you live you shouldnt leave early unless it is an absolute rout with no chance of a comeback
