Jets fans, please line up in single file. When you reach the front of the line, Alio will determine whether he approves of you or whether you are a (insert insulting description here). Those he approves of will receive a GREEN sticker and be admitted entry to the next J!E!T!S! game. Those who do not receive a sticker, please get on the coach bus marked (insert insulting description here) where you will be taken to Alios basement to watch the game on a twenty year old 19 inch Zenith TV. No talking on the line and remain in single file. Thank you.
I wouldn't take Species envy lightly. You really should seek counseling before it gets out of control.
I know, I know. I suck and I'm a blankety blank and you're Mother f'ing Theresa. Still though, I'll be at the games so you can kiss my white ass and look for me on TV.
See, that's the problem. You keep acting like I called you something, but I've never called you, or anyone else a "blankety blank". Perhaps if you actually attempted to talk about the subject at hand, you could look like you actually have a point. But you can't, and you don't. You just want to be left to sit on your ass and do nothing. Fine. But I'll continue to say I think people who do so suck. Deal with it.
Yeah...cheer ettiquite. Do you got shit in your ears that you didn't understand? It's when the other team has the ball and it's 2nd and short. The odds are that they are gonna get a first down. You don't need to stand up on those kind of downs to make noise. It's called a waste of time. And, there was nothing to cheer about. It was a shit game despite us winning. We had a KO return and a boring conservative offense and then the team went prevent in the 4th. When the team puts the fans to sleep, there is not much to get all excited about. I'm sure it's louder in Indianapolis but hell, if we had a team like that, the crowd noise would increase. Remember how loud it was in the stadium in 1998 or the Monday Night Miracle or the 31-0 killing of the Colts. This stadium can rock when there are things to cheer about. How many games have you been to? Yeah...I thought so. For all you dickwads out there critizizing the fan noise, get up off the couch and get to the game to make more noise. It was plenty loud during the past game when it was appropriate to get loud like on 3rd and long when the defense comes up big to force a punt. There is applause during every play but you don't need to yell like an idiot and stand up during every play at the game. It doesn't work like that. I've gone to games for 37 years and fans from the Shea days as well as the Meadowlands know how to turn it up when they need to based on game situations. The situation this past Sunday didn't require the fans to do much as we had a big lead for a while and then lost it. Once it got close again, it was loud despite having tons of schmucks that leave early to beat traffic which should be the biggest peave.
Umm, nice Wall of Text. The Enter key is not there for show, seriously. Why are we dickwads? Amazing. The only name calling is coming from the side defending the indefensible, but it's me that gets silly things written about what I would call people if I were checking people at the gate. People leaving early is a huge peeve, and I pointed that out from the start. But why bother acknowledging that, when it's far easier to just bitch about the bitching? As for your point about not needing to get up due to some silly idea of "ettiquette", Chad Pennington actually has something to say about that, in regard to the Bills defense: hmy: But Chad Pennington, an NFL starting QB, just like Dan Dierdorf, who played the game, and Gumble, who's been following the sport since I was in diapers, all have no clue what they're talking about. Surely, no one knows how a crowd should act like a New York Jets Season Ticket Holder. This might just be the most amusing argument I've ever been involved in.
Alio: You people are a total embarassment Alio: You're a bunch of miserable schmucks Alio: You're a waste Alio: .....some douchebag sitting on his hands behind me Alio: ....SEASON TICKET HOLDERS SUCK!!!!!!!
I think the title of the thread should be changed to Wanted: Home Field Advantage, because I agree with Alio we don't have a home field advantage right now, to the people that are complaining about the effect of a good home field advantage must have never experienced it before because a great home field advantage ALWAYS helps the home team in a big way, while our players talent isn't something we can do anything about, this is something we can do. And to those that say it has anything to do with Fireman Ed, if our fan base is dependent on one man than we are more pathetic than I thought, screaming a j-e-t-s chant is the equivalent of what he does. The fact is that while this thread has been repeated time and time again, that is usually because our crowd has been weak over and over again. To those that are saying that there was nothing to cheer for. We were winning most of the game against one of our most hated rivals, and the game wasn't even where the loudest cheers came from that day.
Yeah, and where's the name calling there? Fair enough, you got me on that one. That's debatable, but I'll even give you that one. Now that's F***ING RIDICULOUS. Ticket holders can get pissed off at me for telling them they should cheer, but I can't say something about someone who tells me to sit down and shut up at the game? Get the F*** out of here. Where's the namecalling? You're ridiculous, and you don't even bother arguing the point. I tired of you pages ago, but now, I'm just done responding to you unless you actually want to discuss the topic. I'm sorry, was calling you ridiculous namecalling too?
If you want to, feel free to change it bro. As I've said repeatedly, the rant wasn't meant for every single ticket holder. Just those who have better things to do than act like they're actually fans of the team. Personally I don't care. It seems like the only people who were offended were those who don't feel a need to cheer, so I can't really say I'm sorry for the thread. The people it pertained to know they've been called out. They've just spent the last 5 days trying to justify why they do what they do (or not do, as the case may be). Change the title or don't as it suits you. The one thing that won't change, however, is my stance on the situation.
Like I said I agree with your position, and the fact that people are actually arguing why they don't cheer is mind boggling to me. I want one day for people to dread going into our house, because it shows great pride by our fans, instead I am hearing crap like crowd etiquette truly disgraceful.
That's my point. Obviously I don't want people to fear coming into our house like they do Oakland (where idiots throw batteries), but they should fear the noise level, like they do in places like Indy, Seattle, NE, San Diego, Dallas, whatever. With the exception of Miami, I can't think of one place that is consistently worse in terms of cheering than us. Miami at least has the excuse that it's usually full of displaced fans of other teams.
You didnt let me answer... No one cares about your glory days you old fart. Your alzheimers is preventing you from understanding that you shouldnt require a reason. THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM. Do you need a reason to breath? Seriously diveate from the norm for once in your existence. How can you sit there and make excuses. No one is asking for a detailed report into every play, just getting off your lazy ass and making some noise to help the defense. But YOU think its better to just remain glued to your chair while snacking on nachos and expanding your waistline until the other 79,999 people tell you its okay to cheer now. WASTE SOME ENERGY. Try it. it is actually fun and encouragable. You are a lemming waiting in line if you only act when others do. read the responses around you. Don't you think its a little strange that everyone is calling you out. I hate to seem like some jerk to you but come on bro, you sound like its a burden for you to cheer. You NEED A REASON TO CHEER. IF THIS TEAM ISNT OUTRIGHT BLOWING PEOPLE OUT OF THE WATER THERE IS NO REASON TO CHEER. Wtf is that? show some enthusiasm. BTW i go to every Jets vs Dolphins Game so piss off. I may not live in NY but i bleed Green and do my part. All that matters to me is supporting my team fuck what i think about everyone else. You get up and yell and watch the people around you join in. A fans only requirement is his or her passion for their team. Wow... i guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.
Well obviously not comparing our crowd to the crazy people in Oakland, although I do admit that when Oakland is good in any sport they bring it stronger than most cities. I guess this is one reason I love college football. Where you are required to stand throughout the entire game. Where they fill up stadiums bigger than NFL stadiums. Where there is no excuse not to cheer.
I think maybe it's just poor acoustics at The Meadowlands. Thanks be to God we're getting a new stadium! Now our voices will finally be heard!
You must have young children? This kind of guilt trip is best used on 12 year old girls preferably by their mothers.
Atlanta is bad. Their fans, when i went, were pretty tame. And it was a Monday night game in a dome. The loudest stadium I have been to was the Meadowlands...granted it was in 1998..and the only other comparisons I have are Atlanta, Miami, and Tampa Bay
