that certainly is a fitting event for someone who is the meanest poster on TGG... the fact of the matter is though that your meanness would never, EVER scare Vinny Testaverde. sorry, just the way it is....
I bet you think up little scenarios all day long where a bare-chested Vinny does battle with anyone whom you happen to encounter.
i dont know, i thought your location used to say texas. maybe that's sundayjack, i'm not sure, sometimes i get my weirdos blended too, lmao.
I hope for a time when we never hafta hear about Vinny Testaverde again on this board. I will never understand Jet fan's infatuation w/ him beyond him being a decent QB for us in the late 90's.
I think the infatuation has several parts to it. First, he took us as close to the super bowl as we have ever been since Namath did, and Todd took us to the AFC CG in the strike shortend season of 82. Second, he was hometown guy, grew up a Jet fan. His relationship with his late father while here was well documented. Al couldn't watch Jet games LIVE because he had a bad heart. he would tape them, and watch them later. Of course Al died 0n valentines day several years ago now. I think many Jets fans remember that. I remember his mom and Dad dancing to " VVVVInny and the Jets" on Oprah. Third, I for one can appreciate and remember that he renegotited his contract to help the Jets cap-wise every year he was here. He didn't have too. When he lost his starting Job to Chad Pennington, he told paul Hackett to stay in the boothe, and that HE would help manage the young Chad on the sideline, he didn't have too. Other than that I personally met him a couple times, never met a nicer guy, always sign an autograph, take a picture, talk to you. AND No Jet QB ever had a better season than his 29 TD 7 int near MVP performnance of 98. But Vinny was a real jet to most, alot of fans could not stand him, I could never understand why. I was grateful for everything he did for the jets, I wish him well in whatever he decides to do. I say thanks for the memories Vinny, and good luck in whatever you want to do. I think Vinny knows how MOST of us really feel about him. I got goose bumps at the Tampa Game last year when he came into the game. I have never heard an ovation that loud for any one player in my 18 years of attending games. He got us a win, and if only for a short-time in a horrible year, he gave some of us hope. Hew was sitting at home when the phone rang and Herman Edwards asked him for help, once again, at 43, he didn't have too. Thanks for everything Vince.
Living in Gloversville is why you have a wood for Vinny. Only in that crappy place would make Vinny seem like a god...
Vinny once asked a kid's grandma in my class to a dance one night many years ago. The kid's grandma said he was a little too old for her liking though.
what's so funny?? this is a serious issue, if Vinny goes to the browns and starts, that means we automatically lose before we even play the browns this year in cleveland. not a laughing matter....
