This is one of those "head likes the idea, heart hates it" moves. Wilfork made the mistake of signing a max-length, 6-year rookie contract (you could do that back then) and outperformed it from year one. Waited for his payday, got it, and I kind of don't blame him for sticking to his guns here.

All that said, everything will be fine in New England in September. We've been down this road lots of times with other guys from the Super Bowl teams.

Wilfork just signed a contract extension... Shefter reports 3 yrs, $22.5 mil. Until we get the details it's hard to tell how well he made out.

    Vince's statement is below

You know the details of the restructure or are you just blabbing to try to look smart?

I was getting concerned Vince was going to have trouble feeding his family there for a minute. You ever seen his wife? The daily caloric intake in that household likely exceeds that of certain sub-Saharan nations.

You're really concerned with Arabs when entire subsections of India could subsist off of his Wednesday morning snacks?

They're having a decent March (Broncos is better) for two reasons: 1) because they can't draft worth a damn, and 2) because they don't have a choice. They have a three year window before Brady hangs it up and the house comes tumbling down - might as well take one more shot at letting Eli make them look stupid in a Superbowl.

Who is Brady throwing to? Did they rebuild the Gronk? Hernandez out of jail? Pats are going down hard this season.

I hate the Pats more than anything but I can guarantee you they will be the #1 or #2 seed in the AFC again this year.

They are a beatable team. Brady's age, one year older. Their tight end position is decimated. Once opposing players get past this nostalgia of NE being a great and maybe if officiating ever gets off their knees...

They should have lost a lot of games last season. We should have beat them at their house, clyde gates dropping over 5 passes including a td. Houston blew a huge 3rd quarter lead, Denver blew a huge halftime lead, Cleveland literally had the game taken away from them by officiating, New Orleans got robbed too. Beatable. Lots of money hungry bums on defense and Brady has one target now Edleman.
