Herm Hackett did indeed keep Chad from getting the team closer and there are still those that applaud that knee. We'll never know just how bad the shoulder was during that last drive will we? If Chad had done a Todd and went down slinging instead of kneeing, I probably could have lived with that loss better. Chad is way more accurate than Todd ever was and if 5 picks were thrown, perhaps 3 passing td's would have went along with that stat as well. I think you have a point though. The days of QB's carrying a team to the next level are long gone. If that's true, then forgive my yawns when we talk about Chad Pennington.. Not the worst ever to wear the Green and White nor is he the living legend some try to make him out to be..
