I would plan, or hope I should say, on having another FA (or rookie) starting opposite Revis at CB. I think Lowery is a great nickle back, but I just don't see him being anything more than that. He gets shredded if you try to put him out on an island in man coverage on the perimeter. He reminds me of a young Ray Mickens. He'll probably be around awhile, but never anything more than a nickle or dime back.

Ellis and abe had success their first yrs and you felt reasonably comfortable that they were going to pan out and be legit. Drob flashed early as well but seemed to steadily decline which had more to do with lingering injury than lack of talent imho. With vernon we had players filling his position and playing at a high level. I hope that he sheds some weight and rex simplifies things for him. I dont think he is a bust until he is given a chance to play. If effort is the problem then i hope his teammates take it apon themselves to adjust his deficiency. With all the positives this kid has going for him, lack of heart is the only explanation for him being a bust imo, if it does play out this way then i hope we never draft a soft spoken defensive player again. His demeanor was the only thing that gave me pause when we drafted him.

Imagine having all that talent and not tapping into it for lack of will.
disgusts me just thinking about it

Absolutely. I would like to draft one in the 1st round, but I didn't want to put down any names because who knows what will happen.

Are we SURE that this, which is the best scenario, is all that great?

I just find it funny that most players are given 3 years post draft and Gholston is deemed a bust after 1 year. While I have no idea how he will turn out, he needs the benefit of the doubt due to the fact that he's switching positions, and is new to the league. Give him 3 years before you judge him. Is it b/c he was drafted so high or b/c he is a jet that makes him such a big bust?

for the record, i wanted no parts of the chap...but now that he's here just give him a chance

No, it's because most posters here on TGG are negative in nature and are just looking for a Jets' player to fail so they can come on here and pat themselves on the backs with "I told you so", so they can inflate their already overinflated egos.
