1. Solid scat-back, but at 33 I'd rather have Leon 2. A 33 year old former work horse with injury problems. Taylor has not played in 16 games since 2003. Jones is younger, he's been healthier, and he's taken less abuse. Advantage: Jones. 3. Replaceable role player. Next! 4. Yet another Patriot running back with injury issues. He's been on the team 4 years and has not played 16 games in one of them. While Maroney has had some excellent performances but tends to follow them up with absolute garbage. It's almost like two running backs are wearing his uniform. 5. Solid back up. I'd like to see him on the Jets. So that's 2 old guys, one run-of-the-mill backup - all of which are over 31 - one schizo, and one guy who, although solid, wasn't good enough to beat out the above mentioned geriatrics or the Riddler.
I think this is a very good post..,. it is highly possible (likely) the Jets do come back down to earth. I want to be the team playing the best football in December and January not in September. I do think once Brady gets more comfortable with his his footing the Pats will get much better, one thing is for certain he isn't going to see anything like this at least until November 22. I really thought early on Galloway was going to kill us... it almost had that feel of us getting killed by him the way Gaffney did a few years ago. However he proved that he wasn't as big time as he used to be when he dropped a few balls, one on a huge 3rd down if I remember correctly. I think one thing we can agree on is that last year for Miami was a fluke... Pennington can't quite get it done in huge games and their savior was inactive tonight for a gimmick QB. While they looked better than they did last week the Colts haven't exactly been impressive the 1st weeks.
It's interesting. I've always considered Maroney EXTREMELY overrated (and over time I get the impression a lot of Patriot fans have begun to come around on that point). However, I do think he would make an awesome back-up/third running back if Greene didn't work out for some reason. (Although I dout that - Greene has a lot of potential)
It's amazing how you want it both ways. I'll stick with our RB's. I'm not saying yours are not good. I'm saying I'll stick with ours. I still believe this offense will put up decent numbers this year. You will disagree. Bottom line-I don't care. It won't change my opinion.
I'm still not sure why BB picked up Galloway. He hasn't shown much and I can see the frustration on Brady when Galloway is either running a wrong route or dropping a pass.
Holy Cow! I guess I'm going to have to give you sarcasm alerts in the future. I know you're slow, but I had no idea you were that slow.
