The eighties jerseys are special to me because that is when I started watching and rooting for the Jets.
I would like to see the Titans uni's for one game and either the 80s or 90s (the only real differnece is the color of the damn facemask) for one game. That would be pretty cool, IMO.
I wish they made this in the flex fit option- I hate the sized fitted hats, but the flex fits are great.
I'm on this boat. I hate the idea of throwbacks. I don't sit down every Sunday (or Monday or Saturday or Thursday, etc.) to watch the NY Titans or the 80's Jets or some godawful green/black Jets abomination. I like watching the Jets, I like their uniforms and I think dressing up like a team they're not is stupid and gimmicky. And yes I know it's all about the money but that hardly excuses it.
I think it's great that they do it, honoring those that paved the way for them now. Personally I like having different Jersey options too, color coordinating is fun!! I'm sure Jason Taylor loves it-
Even the XL flex fit?? I have a fairly large head and the XL works for me- As long as I keep my hair short.
I always play with the 80's-90's Kelly Green throwbacks when I'm the Jets in Madden. Those uni's remind me of Mo Lewis and Marvin Jones so it wasn't all bad in that era.
Those black jerseys with the white numbers look terrible. I have an old black Chrebet jersey with green numbers with a white outline. It makes the jersey look 10x better.
The 1978 to 1984-ish version was better - no black outlines at all. Look for sack exchange photos or anything in that style from Shea and you'll see the slight difference. Think "Richard Todd" for that style.
I have the same issue as you and Jfaulk, if my hair is anything other than very short I look like an ass with a flexfit. I have to go a half inch or so bigger than my regular size with the fitteds to make it look even close to decent. As for the actual jersey, I love the 90s version and would really like to see it used over the ridiculous Titans crap. For one I'm just tired of seeing half of the stadium filled with blue and gold during games they aren't wearing the Titans stuff. I was at the Jets Rams game last year and the crowd looked split like at a Jets-Fish game in Miami. I have three old style jerseys, which I usually rotate when going to games, Boomer, Keyshawn, and the classic Neil O'Donnell. Still need to find a white one though.
