That's great, it's what you are supposed to do here. But, you would probably get a good idea of how the board in general and different posters in particular feel by reading through some of the threads. You might pick up on something that you didn't consider earlier, or find an argument that helps your point of view out. Point is: it gets annoying when someone comes in late to the party, doesn't read through any of the threads, and then tries to restart the WHOLE discussion all over again.
No, he's right. Could someone please put together a condensed list of everyone's opinions for the guy who is too lazy to read them in their full form?
Well played, Vernon Gholston. We know you're the anonymous player, he's just looking for someone to say, "Don't be so hard on yourself, you're not that bad." You're that bad.
really easy to spend $6 million on a player just for depth when it isn't your money. I hate to break it to you, just because that money seems fake to you because it isn't yours, it isn't fake to those who have it and will have to pay it. Try putting yourself in the check signers position and it is really quite easy to grasp. your confusion is born from your obvious egocentric POV which is actually irrelevant to the scenario.
So, you decided to ask for peoples opinions instead of just reading their opinions as they have already been discussed in this thread? What makes you think you're worth having to re-explain everything that is already explained in this thread? Why should people do more work to compensate for your laziness? Some people need to do more reading and less posting.
...and when a man tells you to do more reading and less posting while having 23,000 + posts, thats a bitch slap from hell.
Petro upgraded the board and a lot of the settings were defaulted. I wouldn't expect post counts to last the rest of the year.
The one thing that bothers me about Thomas Jones is that I believe he still has something left in the tank. We all have seen how Thomas Jones is a pretty "streaky" runner for us. It seems like in the beginning of every season Jones gets off to a really slow start, with many posters on this board calling for his head. However, he then has a few big games and everybody forgets about the slow start. Also, Thomas Jones had a ridiculously high amount of carries this season, so it's understandable he was wearing down during the 16-19th games of the season. I don't think Thomas Jones is an elite RB by any means, and it appears that Shonn Greene is the best RB on the Jets team. However, with Leon's situation still a question mark and since we haven't seen how Shonn Greene will handle an increased load, I feel that the Jets may miss Jones' durability. Jones may not be the best back, but he rarely gets injured and hangs onto the football. Now, this can all be solved if we draft/sign another RB, but going into the season with just Greene and Washington will be a mistake.
If TJ has a mediocre year with whoever he catches on with, everyone will be saying "I told you so." Flip-flopping. He isn't going to have the kind of year he had last year b/c there aren't very many OL's like ours. We just have to wait and see.
My god it is what is. Hopefully Tanny & the FO did not make this decision willy nilly. The players are players & have zero insight into the FO & coaches thinking. They can squawk all they want but if TJ wanted to remain in green/white all he had to do is redo his contract & since he did not do that HE made the decision to leave us not the other way around
Hard to argue a point with someone using "willy nilly""! If Jones had slightly showed an interest in re-negotiating his contract I wonder what kind of offer would have been on the table. Funny but last season Jones openly wanted to re-negotiate his deal when he was only due $900,000 for the year. Now that he was due a $3M bonus, he has no interest. It's not all on Tanny here. Chalk it up to the business side of sports.
Faneca has some nerve, crying about the business of football. He wouldn't even come for a visit. Just had them fax him the proposals, extorting more money out of us up until the 11th hour. Football is a young man's game. No matter how much HGH Jones takes, he's over rated. Green actually sees the field. And why don't they all shut up until they see how the Jets replace Thomas Jones? Woody Johnson hasn't exactly been a miser.
Of course he didn't want to renegotiate. The money he made was on the low side for his production from a strictly numbers standpoint. He made $4.5 million per for 3 years and, if retained, would average $5 million over his 4 years in New York. I'm sure he's well aware that the only guys with similar production over the past 3 years are each making $7 - 8.5 million per season. We all know why he's being let go, but I can see his perspective, too.
Right, because he got 1,400 yards despite being a lousy runner...if he were any good he would have had 2,500....right ??
