Everyone is bitching that we didn't run it enough, but these same people would be bitching if we continued running without success. We averaged less than 3.5 per carry against Green Bay. We are used to over 5 ypc. If the WR made the catches there were supposed to, we would have had great numbers through the air. Green had a drop, Holmes had a 3rd down drop that would have been a big gain. Cotch had at least 2 drops, one would have been a huge gain. Keller had a drop. Plus those two INT's that should have been completions. You turn those drops to catches and Sanchez is looking at 25-38 with about 325 yards with no picks. And for those who think our D Can't improve, well you need a wakeup call too. We do need a pass rusher. Watch a steelers game. Watch their OLB's. Those are pass rushers. We get even one LB like that and our D is twice as good. Pace, Thomas and Taylor are not impressive. With the secondary we have, we should average 5 sacks a game.
Further to my point about the D, we are not creating turnovers. There are 3 teams in the NFL with fewer INT's than the Jets. We have had a few fumble recoveries go our way, but we are still middle of the pack with forced fumbles. And we only have one defensive TD. I'm not saying I would trade our D for anyone elses out there because we are doing well on the scoreboard, but the point is we are not creating enough big plays on D.
It's been obvious our secondary was having problems, but it looks like they're coming together now so I suspect we'll see some INT's in the coming weeks.
true but it wasn't a game costing call. we still had plenty of time left. it isn't like the miami game where they blew a play dead when it shouldn't have been, now they did teh opposite and when a play was over they let it keep going and called it wrong.
