Look Im not going to lie if Haynesworth could get his head out of his ass I would have no problem with him in green and white, but clearly thats not going to happen so I dont think its worth it.

In addition, why do the skins need the Jets to get involved?

yeah the point is they are not looking at jackson, the point is the skins are trying to get the Jets to take Albert in this trade. Vincent Jackson has nothing to do with the Jets other than being part of a 3 way trade.

The perception of the Jets FO is they'll go after anybody that can help the team win regardless of any baggage. Haynesworth could help the team because of Jenkins' injury

San Diego was given 5 days to get the deal done.
I think there will be developments after tomorrow's game...if the Jets can handle the Patriot's I would put the move as doubtful though.

To increase the possibility that somebody else looks like the bigger fool when this all unwinds? If I'd signed Haynesworth to the contract he got and was now looking at trading him for a guy asking for 40 million guaranteed at a position I already had a #1 at I'd be trying really hard to cover my ass if the thing fell apart either before or after the trade. Including the Jets in the deal makes it much more likely that any snarky media comments that arise out of it will go somewhere other than Dan Snyder's ownership acumen.

    Huh?

That's not the reason why the Redskins would want to or need a third team, such as the Jets, to get involved in the trade.

Be honest, 90% of us would be excited if we added Haynesworth at this point

I would not want that piece of garbage on this team.

Id rather see these team succeed struggling without someone like him than to see this team succeed and deal with the struggles that come along with him.

Why would Hanysworth want to go from a 3-4 which he hates to another 3-4 where he'll be asked to do the same job that he doesn't want to do in Washington?

I'm being perfectly honest.....Haynesworth added to our lockeroom would be a disaster.

Because Rex will use him in ways he wants to be used and would sell him on that.

It doesn't have to be the same job at all....

How exactly does one play 3-gap technique in a 3-4 defense without leaving a massive hole in the middle of the line?

Albert, line up between the Guard and the Tackle and we'll put a LB one on one with the center. Full poof plan!

"Full proof plan and "3-gap technique"?

The position is 3 technique. Bum Phillips created the numbering system. The 3 refers to the middle of the B gap which is the gap between the guard and tackle. There is no such thing as a "3-gap technique."

As the term is used to describe defensive tackles, "technique" is all about alignment. It is not about how the tackles go about their business.

DTs are either one-gap or two-gap players. It is impossible to clog three gaps unless Jabba the Hut visits from his galaxy far, far away and plays in the NFL for a few years. Alas, to be effective I'd guess he'd need arms on each end of his body.

In all likelyhood we'd keep Pouha at NT, and go with Haynesworth and Ellis at end.......then use Pouha + Haynesworth as DT's when we line up in the 4-3. Keeping both Albert happy.....massively improving our pass rush....while taking full advantage of just how damn good Pouha is.

It's also worth noting that Jenkins was/is on the books for nearly $14 million in 2011 and 2012.....meaning Haynesworth, at his current price would actually be cheaper, than keeping Kris would of been.

I say we offer to make the conditional 3rd rounder we gave the Chargers a guaranteed 2nd in 2011.....as well as a 3rd in 2012.......Skins throw in their first, and everyone walks away happy.

    Skins get Jackson.

    We get Haynesworth.

    Bolts get a 1st in 2011, turn a 3rd into a second, and add a 2012 3rd.

    Done Deal.

I'd be ok with that... maybe a 4th instead of a 3rd in 2012 but still that'd be cool...

Haynesworth at end can do damage imo... plus our D is so versatile we don't un a TRUE 3-4 as much...
