Hahahaha, get outta town. I got pinched for rolling through a stop sign I didn't roll through last year. It got reduced to some bs parking ticket, but that is hilarious.

I followed as much of the Karen Read trial as I could. My summary earlier in this thread, when I was just scratching the surface, was off a little. I heard yesterday that the jury was 12-0 ruling out the murder charge and split 6-6 on DWI manslaughter. So, half the jury essentially believed she dropped her boyfriend off and was so drunk she didn’t realize she hit him. What I don’t get is, to reach that conclusion you have to believe the disjointed testimony of a bumbling, stuttering, state police accident reconstruction expert over three PhD experts hired by the FBI, not the defense, who say physics prove it’s impossible that he was hit by a car. The state police and DA claim she backed into him going 28 mph in reverse, in a straight line, in a snowstorm, over a distance of 60 feet, cracked his skull and left no other bruises. Just the backing-up part is Impossible. But whatever.

Until this trial, though, I never knew there was a massive subculture of people who do nothing but follow high profile trials online. Even had people traveling in from all over just to be in Dedham when the verdict was read. And then a mistrial. Heh.

    We got us a psychopath . . . but you're not supposed to say that . . . it's a not an "actual" diagnosis. That's a nice story.

I will always defend my stance that most monsters are born and not made. I doubt there is hope for her, but what do you do with this? I don't pretend to have an answer.

I watch a lot of true crime, and it is NOT easy to smother someone. What a bitch.

Interesting that the plea seemed to be the way the wife and stepdaughter wanted to go. Maybe they figure a 33 year old rotting in prison is way more punishment than executing him in ten+ years after appeals.

What is it with throwing infants and toddlers off bridges? I was trying to find a specific story from years ago. I'm talking YEARS ago. Unreal what came up.

I remembered some jackass in a fit of revenge against a woman who left him threw a baby in a carrier off a bridge. Well, it turns out there are so many bridge tossing incidents that I almost pitched myself head first off a bridge.

I am NOT kidding how many things turned up. Perhaps the latest, but not the last????

At least there was a bridge big enough for Charles Stuart.

Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. It surpasses Charles Starkweather and Carol Ann Fugate as far as depravity, and Holy fckn shit.

Fugate and Homolka are both free, btw. Fugate had an excuse (?), young and impressionable. Homolka? OK, honey, let's pick up young girls, torture, rape and kill them . . . including her own sister, who they drugged, filmed, and sexually assaulted. Died.

'Splain me how this woman is free, married, and walking around in society. I don't get it.
