You have to be satisfied with what JD is doing. Our rookies from both 2020 and 2021 seem to be shining under this new coaching staff. Jamal Adams is holding out currently in Seattle and creating massive concerns. There is QB controversy building in Carolina due to PJ Walker's performance. And we have four top 60 picks in 2022 with the 3rd highest cap. Pretty remarkable
Yes…overall I think he’s done a great job improving the roster… specifically with the 2020 crop, I think Becton has been very good, Hall has been a nice pick in the 5th round, and Huff as a nice undrafted addition….I’m still hopeful on Mims too. But outside of those guys, I think Davis, Perine, Zuniga I would consider disappointments so far…not that it can’t improve, but so far mediocre. I’m bullish on the 2021 class so yeah and the free agents signed this year look really good so far…so yeah… I sly done
Yeah! It does feel pretty good. Hope the roster can stay healthy because the Jets are finally on the right path!
We’re more talented than we’ve been in the recent past but that bar is extremely low. I’m going to remain cautiously optimistic at very least until I see our 1s play against other 1s.
To be sure, overall the 2020 draft class can't compare with the 2021 class so far, but thing can still change dramatically. Also, don't forget Mann. He was a great add. I believe he is going to be a real weapon this season now that we have speed at the gunner positions. I think Perine is going to be a solid contributor in the RB rotation (proving me wrong about him). I think Davis will be a good, if not very good addition to our S corps. He was raw. Under Saleh, Ulbrich et al, I think he will develop into a quality S. Zuniga is the only one at this point about which I have serious doubts, but can uderstand why JD took a chance on him. He still might develop into a good player, but with all the other great players we have on the DL, he may have to go elsewhere to prove that he was a quality pick as well.
believe travel day to GB today. They will do two practices tomorrow and Thursday then play Saturday preseason game.
thought I heard Zuniga was doing solid in OTA’s before getting hurt. He’s gonna hit the IR to start the season and who knows after but he’s really behind the 8 ball missing his first preseason after not getting a preseason last year.
I would add Mann and Guidry to that list from 2020. 2020 draft and undrafted could give us 5 starters. In Becton, Hall, Mann, Guidry and possibly Huff.
Looks like we're gonna see Wilson and the starters for a few series on Saturday and they will also play in the final game against Philly.
Tend to agree, I think it was a misstep by JD taking Becton over Wirfs. It's a bit early to say for sure but it's certainly looking like that was a blunder. Not that Becton has been bad really, but Wirfs has clearly been better so far and has had no injury concerns to boot.
Looks like first cuts were finally made. No surprises here from me. Walter seemed solid but the backfield is crowded, same with Dwumfour and our DL.
