The short take what the defense gives you plays are very important for Wilson early on. He did not have to methodically move the ball much in college which is going to be how you need to move the ball in the NFL for 80% of the game.
Patriots built a dynasty partly based on a defensive philosophy that assumes most teams can not methodically move the ball down the field w/o at some point turning the ball over or setting themselves back in down & distance via penalty. It’s just very hard to play mistake free for 8-10 snaps straight. At least it has been for us. Conversely, on the other side of the ball, they mastered it. Thanks in part to Tom Brady.
