Thanks! Brook PM'd me. Apparently he now has pneumonia, but he seems to be in a positive, fighting=back frame of mind and is in the hospital so he should be okay. Obviously we're all pulling for him. Hell, he's been infected with Jets Fever, so Covid and pneumonia should be a snap!
I do want to point out that both back up QBs did a pretty creditable job and White looked quite poised out there. I can see why the CS was in no hurry to bring in a perennial vet back up QB.
Pretty fucking awesome! Now all we have to do is hope the content of the video is as good as the presentation...
And that underscores the difference having some time under your belt. A set of spring practices, and less than a week in T.C. (being 2 days behind everyone else to boot), and having lost his QB coach, all of this will certainly affect a young player. He needs to overcome all of it and more, but to make a judgment after last night?
That really is a good job, man. Almost feels like a teaser trailer for the One Jets Drive episode dropping on Tuesday.
Another observation: When in history would this fanbase, or really ANY fanbase be ecstatic over stellar defensive play in a scrimmage? Maybe the 1986 early camp Bears scrimmage? I doubt that too.
Pretty damn good. Music was a bit hot in places... at least on my system. Not that my opinion means anything... but I spent my entire career in television production... the last 23 years at Fox Sports...primarily as an editor... and your video would be considered well... and it got @Brook! out of his death bed... Nice work...
Odd that we'd get the voice of reason from the Post, but Costello has his moments. https://nypost.com/2021/08/08/denzel-mims-could-still-be-red-zone-threat-for-jets-this-season/ That's smart.
I think this is a perfectly rational take tbh. I'm a little more optimistic about Wilson, this team, and their direction but you're absolutely right. This is a results-based business. They can look the part in shorts and helmets all day long but until it translates to W's on Sunday, all of that means nothing. I will say, this is the most optimistic I've been heading into a season in maybe a decade, and a sub-par showing from our QB in the Green-White Scrimmage hasn't changed that stance.
You hit the nail on the head. It seems both Morgan and White are doing a decent job overall in practice with 2nd team. Add Josh into the mix, and I think the best one of the three to come out will do fine as a back-up QB.
