Not only that, but I would bet the Defense is taking it a little easy on the offense right now. Give Geno some confidence, the WR's, RB's etc.
Like I said, Cro is a 10 yr vet who's not killing himself in 90+ heat to make the team. He's no Revis, who gives 110% even in practice. Who knows. Maybe Bowles took Cro aside and asked him to let Geno make some plays to help Geno's confidence.
haha you and I typed the 'defense letting Geno get some confidence' at the same time.....maybe something to it.
I would hope not.. that would suck to find out for the people that actually have some faith in Geno... like me! lol
Sucks that the defense won't be going into the season fully suited (Richardson, Miliner, AA), but I am very excited about IK, Mauldin,Dex, and Marcus Williams. Also, Trevor Reilly as a situational guy and ST guy.
If it came out that is what bowles told cro he should be fired on the spot that would be some horrible coaching
These conspiracy theories are insane. Dropping interceptions on purpose? Letting receivers blow by you in practice? It's the fucking NFL. No one's going to those lengths to make someone feel good about themself.
Is it really that hard to believe that Geno is doing well? look, cautious optimism or skepticism over wether or not he can keep it up in the regular season is one thing. But c'mon people, they're letting him look good on purpose? what possible benefit is there to do that? Bowles- "AWESOME, now our actually truly awful QB thinks he's good! and now we can start him even though WE KNOW he's bad! so much so we asked our defenders to go easy on him! why didn't Rex try this, its so FOOLPROOF!
Yes, it is that hard to believe. Geno is awful and Bowles runs a Top D in the NFL. You can't just have every practice involve the Defense dominating the Offense. They have to let up, at least a little.
Lorenzo Mauldin is going to be the reason Pace goes bye bye! i've been saying this since we drafted him.. the kid has a VERYYYYY high motor and will for sure emerge as a vocal leader / hypeman for the defense...
It's still tough to believe. It makes more sense to call plays you know are going to beat that particular defense than it is to let guys intentionally beat you. I don't want the defense smothering the hell out of the quarterback but in a practice where the guy can't get hit and the blitzers step out of the way to let you make the throw even if there's a sack, our quarterback better look good (terrible run on sentence). I don't want him thinking he's better than he is because then he steps into the game trying to make throws that aren't there but were there in a relaxed practice. Confidence is one thing, you can't build a false sense of hope. Hopefully Bowles realizes this. I also don't think it's terribly hard to believe that Cromartie can be a practice dog. He's still talented but he's struggled with his hip which is the worst injury a defensive back can have because it nags.
Mauldin for 5+ sacks this year Geno progressing nicely, will make the jump to solid starter this year.
Jets put some team period highlight videos on their website. I'm gonna pair up some of the practice tweets with the videos so we can see how they looked vs how they were described. http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/v...Distance/b0a1dcfc-299a-4aa5-8547-797b8d2678f0 http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/v...o_Kerley/731a6bd9-cfc1-4e71-9ec4-161a1d70d433 http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/videos/Cro_Strip_Henderson_TD/f823aa9b-b5b2-4d89-93fa-f038744d0fa6
I think it may be a little of both. Geno is doing well, and Cro (being an old man) might have been told to save something for the season... take it easy on yourself.
My guess is that the defense isn't letting up; but rather they're keeping things simple ( no exotic blitz packages etc.) and that makes the offense's job a lot easier.
Sounds like Geno is really improved ...amazing what real coaching can do Let's not forget he was the third highest rated QB in the NFL the last four games...maybe this is carrying over to 2015....maybe
I loved the pick for Geno when we got him. He quickly made me change my mind on that. But at the same time, I am rooting like hell for him to turn his career around and be the guy we've always needed. But it's ridiculous some of the things people claim. If he's good, there's an excuse as to why the defense is letting him be good. If he's bad he sucks. The kid can't win with some of you. Just let this thing play out. He's doing well right now. Let's build on that
