Mo definitely. Sheldon will be a harder sell. yes hes young, yes he's talented. But he carries behavioral concerns and is likely looking at another suspension. I'd be ALL for trading Sheldon tho if we can pull it off. I personally do not want Sheldon signed long term, and want him gone.

That's simply not true, Walt. There statistical facts that show that Richardson is in a dead heat with Mo already. There is nothing statistically or from Snacks' play to even remotely suggest that he will develop the ability to rush the passer. Nothing. Your logic is flawed.

The speed rusher is a must. Being a top five or even top 10 D vs the run is not. It's nice, but not necessary since so many teams throw the ball most of the time. Of course that could change. Several AFC east teams could draft dynamic RBs this draft and it would become more important.

I think you're dreaming if you think there's a way that both Mo and Snacks can be kept. That's too much money tied up in the DL, way too much.

Don't you just love the off-season  ... hopefully Mac and Bowles make the decision and it's what's best for the team. Too many regimes in the past, seem to screw up their priorities and I hope they make the right decisions. I'm only a fan, but I hope Mo sticks around, he's my favorite player on the team and he just gives it his all.

I don't think it costs 8 or 9M to sign draft picks, that's a lot of cash, a lot of teams don't have that much space during the draft. Ill have to look that up, but the money is there. Plus, the Jets if needed can mess with other contracts.

Undoubtedly the big cat will get better, but his, Mo's or Richardson's talents would probably be wasted at NT. That's a point for wanting to keep Snacks, but imo you can't pay a one-dimensional NT $7 million per year. Undoubtedly some Jets fans are going to be unhappy whatever Mac decides. I just want him to do what will ultimately be best for the team and help them get to and win a SB.

This is so wrong, See the Patriots. There inability to run the football , made Denver pass rushers tee off on Tom Brady.
D Brickshaw Ferguson would get easily 8 million by some other team , if the Jets cut him.( could even play him at Right tackle - some team that has load of cap space) .

Now where do you Jets go find a Lt.( in Fa- there 3 to four Cordy Glenn- franchise tag, Russell Okung- always injured, K Osemele- three and half year starter in college at left tackle , who Ravens moved to guard. They played him at Lt the last month and half , and he looked great.
Donald Penn- at 33 would only be a temporary solution- but is playing at higher level than Ferguson right now.

There are so many teams desperate for Lt- d Brickshaw Ferguson even slipping is better than what they been starting.( he be upgrade). So many teams have way more cap space than the Jets, really seeing them winning a bidding war for one of these Lt's.

The thing is once you tag Muhammad Wilkerson. once he signs that tender he's jets property 16 million) . They can still trade him, but if they can't find a trade partner, than there isn't any way to get rid of that 16 million dollar.( you can always sign him long term - reducing how much he gets the first year)

The Jets can absorb $16M next year. They can't absorb it year after year at that position. If they tag him and play him and can't trade him, well he's on another contract year and this contract year turned out to be great.

Dude Mo had 12 sacks and 64 tackles. Richardson is not near that. I didn't say that Snacks was gonna start sacking the QB either. Mo, Snacks, and Cat are all much stouter than Rich at the point of attack also. They all make significantly more tackles also. As I said, we need sacks from OLB speed rusher to go along with Mauldin, Mo, and Cat. Your reading and thinking are flawed.

The Jets can absorb the 16 million but they are going to create more holes on their roster in the process.(forget signing most of their key free agents, and getting outside Fa to help the weak areas.
The Jets aren't playing a cup cake schedule next year. Jets pay that much to Wilkerson jmo it was a mistake.

Not a bad idea to front-load part of the contract if you can do it. Give Mo a nice pay-raise then next year he can be paid 12M at most a season.

The guy had 78 tackles his rookie year and 67 last year. I've grown away from being a fan of his but he's an excellent 3-4 end and seems like he'd be a good 3T in a 4-3. Mo is better but to say Snacks and Williams are is silly IMO.

They sucked the two years before and TB used Rich differently. This is TB's D and it's about him too. Look at what TB did with them. If TB thought like you why did they bother with Snacks? Alreay Cat looks to be the stouter man on the edge.
Even if Rich played the whole year his numbers would have been less in tackles. Snacks is the better NT, You really think Rich would be a big sack guy at NT? I don't, and Cats gonna be the better fit at DE at base 3-4, in their roles along with Mo in the DL in the future for the team. That's a monster 3-4. I really don't care who thinks who is better.
Snacks took two guys out all year, and made tackles to boot

Once TB cut Coples he started to use Rich out there a little. They need an OLB, not Rich roaming around there.

When we get fucked again by Rich playing 12 games next year, and/or him fucking up again where does that leave TB? Without the best of the bunch if you trade Mo. Or a hole in the middle if we lose Snacks.

If it's between Mo and Snacks that's obvious. I'm not gonna argue that. The problem is we're straddled with a guy who let everybody down last year, and it's gonna happen again this year. You wanna say Rich is better than Snacks and Cat go ahead.

He's a boy compared to Mo and Snacks, and Cat's their man. Cat is their #1 and a prototype ascending.

And now we're seeing them trying to sign Snacks. We lose Mo for Rich I'll be shocked.

The Patriots couldn't run the ball for 2 reasons. One, at least a couple of their starting OL were injured and out and the backups were not up to the same level as normal for the Pats. Two, the Pats don't have a quality RB on their roster. They didn't even try to run the ball.

When they played the Jets, the Jets could probably have played any big body at NT vs the Pats and the Pats would still have thrown the ball the majority of the time.

I wasn't advocating to get rid of Mo for Rich but you're talking about him like he's a slouch. No he's not a 3-4 nose tackle that's going to rack up big sack numbers. But he's still a good player. Just because he's a moron doesn't take away from his play on the field and the biggest reasons for his future salary being in question is because he's a moron not because he can't play the game.

He played OLB because he's probably the most fit for the position. None of them are OLB at all though.

LOL Right. Your last response totally ignored the stats that I pointed out to you showing that there's little difference between Mo and Richardson over the first 3 years of their career, and that's the only reasonable and fair way to compare the two. Mo had a career season this past season and may never reach those levels again. He's had two more years to develop than Richardson also. You can't compare the 5th year of a player's career to the 3rd year of another player's career. THAT is flawed reasoning. Go look up the stats. You're wrong. You don't like Richardson. I get it. I like Mo better too and between the too, would rather see Mo stay, but that's not the issue for the Jets. The issue is cap space and marketability. Trading Richardson won't get much in return and won't help the Jets very much with cap space. Conversely, trading Mo would give the Jets much more in return and give the Jets a ton of cap space.

Mo may be asking for that much per season anyway. I may be mistaken, but I think that even if they tag him, then can still negotiate a long-term contract and lower the cap hit from $16 million.

No, I'm not talking about him like he's slouch. That is silly. I'm not trying to convey that. He's obviously a good player. That goes without saying.
He's got baggage tho. I don't think he's mature. I don't trust him and I don't think TB does. I think Snacks is a little underrated and Sheldon is getting too much love tho, not because he isn't a good player. If he was a great player I think we would've seen more by now tho. I'm looking at the big picture ideally. If we were set up for 4-3 I wouldn't say anything.

We're gonna take a hit here and they're all really good. But I'm good with whatever TB&Mac end up doing. You won't see me argue that.

So is comparing a third year player to a first player. In a fantasy league we can argue who's better. This about Roles and Fits, and Trust. There's more than numbers involved in team sports, and who you think is better and what you think is 'flawed', lol'. I'm right you're wrong yada yada...gimme a break with the childish bs already
It's not me not liking Rich. Me giving giving credit anyone else doesn't say that, man. It's about really liking Snacks and thinking he's a better fit for what the're doing

Whatever. Pointing out that someone's logic is flawed isn't childish BS. Logic and reason are not a matter of opinion, but objective reality.
