Well I'd say that we got the better end of the deal. Although I don't see Suggs as our future. Maybe when we get our next "shinning star" he can back him up. Untill then he can try to prove me wrong. At least Blaylock won't be our man now. Thank god. He's awfull.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this trade.

    This is a decent year:

    2004 cle | 10 | 199 744 3.7 2 | 20 178 8.9 1 |

I have no idea why people insist on "going with what we have." We tend to fall in love with our players for no reason. Even though Suggs is not Barry Sanders, this absolutely improves the team.

Not onboard with this either. I hope that Mangini has seen something that no one else has.
Now we are carrying even more deadwood at RB. Go with what we have or go get a genuine NFL starter. TF it didn't cost us a pick.

The guy is a speedster. you want a playmaker ? Here you go. This kid can be good. I have always liked him. Hes fast, Can break tackles, what more do you want ? Just hope he can stay healthy, and then youll see. Youll love what suggs brings to this team.

    * Maybe he can ask curtis for some tips on staying healthy.

I liked the trade, we have a lot of DBs to spare.

We still have Dyson, Barrett, Miller, Mickens, and Drew Coleman. We're fine at cornerback. If Strait was going to be the safety though, we better hope Erik Coleman gets his ass back in camp. It takes about 3-4 weeks to heal from an appendectomy, I'm not sure how long it takes before you can hit though.

Is Lee Suggs better than Derrick Strait now? Yes.

Does Lee Suggs have more upside than Derrick Strait down the line? Yes.

Does our team need a RB more than a CB/S? Yes.

What could be wrong with this?

...so we traded a guy that couldn't win a job at the position he was drafted for and then tried him at another position, and who knows if he even makes the team, for a guy that can put points on the board. I like the move...

Reverse the two names, and the argument holds true from a Browns fan perspective.

We traded our dime back for a starting running back. Whats not to love? Strait had his chance to show his upside. He didn't and Justin Miller did. Love this trade. (Although Suggs will probably be the backup next year to our 1st round running back).

If the Pats, Bills or Fins got Suggs, the majority of you guys would say it was no big deal and emphizise his injury-prone career. Most would have called him a bust.

That said, I think it has very good potential for you guys. But, stop saying Strait is "nothing" to give up. A lot of you guys liked him when he was a Jet, now that he is gone he is "nothing."

Once in Cleveland, Romeo could get a lot out of him. Could be good for both teams.

I agree. Like we were going anywhere this year with this current roster? I don't understand the move?

I'm happy with the deal, because Suggs can be a very good back in this league. Good speed, can run with some power, and knows how to be the feature guy; I don't think that any of our other RBs had even 2 of those qualities.

It sucks a bit giving up Strait, because I think he had a shot at being a pretty good safety, but he'd have never seen time here. Interesting that he goes to Mangini's old boss in Cleveland, I think Crennel saw something in him that our staff never did.

Its simple, Suggs could rush for 1200-1300yds and 12-15 tds. If he stays healthy and the o-line gels. Strait could possibly have 8-10 plays a game and maybe 20 pass defenses. Maybe. So what's not to like?

I dont unserstand what people are mad about. We traded our 4th string cb for a potential starting running back, whos pretty good when healthy. Umm, Yah.
