Driver is better than Houshmazilly and Horn and Branch. He may be better than Coles. He's probably not better than Williams.
Your list is alright. Owens and Moss wouldn't be on my list, though. I also think the two Cardinals receivers are close, but I gotta give the nod to Fitzgerald because when you watch their games you'll see Fitzgerald more often draws double coverage. That says something. 1. Marvin Harrison 2. Torry Holt 3. Larry Fitzgerald 4. Chad Johnson 5. Steve Smith, Panthers 6. Andre Johnson 7. Roy Williams 8. Anquan Boldin 9. Donald Driver 10. Hines Ward
Yah I just cant see how you have a list and no fitz , no williams, no johnson. Theres no way those guys arent top 10. No way
My Top 10... flame away 1. Marvin Harrison 2. Chad Johnson 3. Terrell Owens 4. Torry Holt 5. Steve Smith 6. Larry Fitzgerald 7. Anquan Boldin 8. Andre Johnson 9. Roy Williams 10. Lee Evans
What are we going to have next top ten Qbs- and Pennington going to be on that list too. Sorry L Coles is not a top ten WR in the NFl if you honestly look at it..
Dr.Z seemed to think so. Hell, he put him as his second best WR in the NFL when he made a fantasy team.
Everybody under-rates Coles due to the circumstances he has played under in the NFL. He's been hurt but on the field, a rare combination that depresses his production some. The concept of a wide receiver playing with a severe case of turf toe is just silly. That's something that linemen gut out not people who need to run fast and make quick cuts for a living. He's played with a motley selection of QB's who were too fragile or not good enough or over the hill or just plain bad. He has never played with a QB who went to the Pro Bowl and only one (Chad in 2002) even got any consideration for the honor. His opening day and last day QB's have been different in every season up until last year. And names like Tim Hasselbeck and Brooks Bollinger played the majority of two of his seasons, not to mention Patrick Ramsey... He's played for two of the franchises that get the least respect in the Redskins and Jets. Almost everybody in the national media alternates between gunning for these teams and ignoring them. One last point on him: he is about the hardest working player on the field and very proud of his performance and his team's performance. He could easily have used the turf-toe as an out after he pocketed the big bonus in 2003. He wouldn't be the first guy who got a fat contract and was never the same player. But instead he worked through the injury and kept himself on the field and available to his team. That takes guts and it takes pride and it takes a real working man's ethic. Assuming the concussions don't do him in he's going to retire in 5 years with about 850 catches and we're suddenly going to realize that over the course of his career only a few guys were better than him. It'll take hindsight for us to appreciate what we had in him.
Who Cares, if your a fielding a team how many Wrs would go off the board before Coles went off HONESTLY. Again JMo I think your severly overrating L Coles. There are alot of Wrs Like Javon walker, Plaxico Burress(More defense's fear than Coles) I can give you alot more Wrs I would take before L coles.
I agree. If you were honestly fielding a team, not fantasy football, just building your ultimate team. One you would like to own for a single season. How man other WRs would you pick before Coles? I can think of plenty.
you should watch Coles play football more often...hes balls out, sacrifice your body for the team, just make the play kind of receiver....throw that in with all his stats and you got a top 10 WR
Lets not forget, that there arent too much people faster then him . And when I say not that many I mean less then 5.
You say plaxico or javon walker over coles? Huh i no its nothing but talk but put manning or brady wit coles an c how good he would do.
Whoever (I mean everyone) doesn't put Reggie Wayne in their top 10 is a damned idiot. He nearly won receiving title this past year.
The WR's I would take over Coles for just next season - no long term considerations at all, assuming there was just a guy at the other receiver position and the main guy was getting double-teamed a lot: 1. Marvin Harrison. The best receiver in the game today. 2. Chad Johnson. Really an almost uncoverable guy even doubled. Will drop a ball now and then and so the game is really in his hands. 3. Torry Holt. Has been so good for so long that it's hard to remember that he was the #3 option in the Martz Ram's offense after Faulk and Bruce. It really helps to have hall of fame talent around you as you're learning the ropes. That's it. Those are the only guys I would clearly take over Coles if the opportunities were going to be the same for whoever got plugged in to the position. Reggie Wayne is a very good receiver but he's got a hall of fame QB and a hall of fame receiver opposite him. Life is nice when you have that. Roy Williams (Det) and Lee Evans are both guys I could see being more valuable than Coles once they get around to have a few full seasons in a row and avoiding the injury bug. Larry Fitzgerald is a great talent but he has one season that says he's better than Coles and a couple that say he still has something to prove. His team-mate Anquan Boldin is an excellent receiver but has had injury issues and has the benefit of playing opposite Fitzgerald. Hines Ward is the guy closest to Coles in terms of ability and proof but sadly he has been trending down the last few years and I do not expect him to get anywhere near Coles numbers this year. Nobody else is worth mentioning.
Comeon stop playing Madden. That is so laughable a statement that L" Turf Toe" Coles is the fifth fastest Wr in the Nfl. Top 10 Wr's in my book get into the endzone more than 6 times(IF Im not mistaken careerhigh)
