I don't think it is so much sticking points as it is external factors. The Long contract was a big one. This may be the last year of uncapped rookie signings. Both the teams, and agents are nervous about signing contracts before the slotting value is established. May take a few days for somone to make a move. Nobody wants to look stupid.
I used to be interested in the preseason games but the announcers are terrible now. I remember when they tried to update you on the players that were in the game at that point and time. Now they seem to like to tell amusing anecdotes. They don't seem to care about the game after the first two series. I like to see if I can spot an underog who will make the team even thought he wasn't supposed to. Remember a guy named Chrebret?
