FYI, if Cromartie makes that tackle, we held your guys #1 rushing attack to 116 yards, 3.2 avg. And 3 missed field goals, 2 TD's, and 350 yards on offense counts as being shut down? OK I know we're over-rated and play in a weak division. But we beat the eagles, giants, bengals, and cowboys. And you don't go on an 11 game win streak in the nfl by sucking. We barely lost to you guys.
Re: Source: LT to visit Jets on Friday Who follows Doug Flutie to a team? That's even worse! You aren't by any chance...how shall I put this...a little person, are you?
Naa...Brad Smith was a college QB and was pretty decent at it. I'd prefer Brad passing rather than LT. Brad is much more explosive as it is right now than LT, and would ideally have better accuracy/power.
Really... I'll give you that Favre was huge in their success, but everything else is completely false. No offensive line? Phil Loadholt, Hutchinson, and McKinnie are all really good players, Hutchinson is probably still the best guard in the game. Their center is really young and learning, but will definitely improve. They do need help in the other guard position though. No secondary? They have two very solid corners in Griffin and Winfield. I imagine they'll draft another corner and maybe a safety in the draft. But they really don't need an amazing secondary with their defensive line. Old Defensive line? Not even close to being true. Ray Edwards is 25, Kevin Williams is 29, and Jared Allen is 27. The only player that's old is Pat Williams who is an ancient 37, but really he didn't play a lot of downs last year and is returning for this year.
He is a runningback. They are not signing him to throw touchdown passes. They are trying to sign him to come be a professional on and off the field and make productive plays. It's not like they are sitting there saying, "Well we are gonna sign LT instead of Jones because LT can throw the ball better" That doesn't play into it.
The Jets believe that the shell of Tomlinson that is left is still better than Thomas Jones..I will go with their opinions here. It would have been easy to keep Jones and they decided they didn't want him.
Well I was a Bills fan until they let go of Flutie (and started dumbass Rob Johnson). The last time the Bills made the playoffs was in 1999 when Flutie took them there. They haven't been back since. I'd say I made the right decision. He won't put up anywhere near the same amount of yards. If Shonn Greene goes down LT isn't the guy to carry the load anymore. And idk how well you guys would be with Leon Washington
I'm at some Elmo show with my kid bored as shit. However, reading all the moron Charger fan posts is really helping to pass the time! Appreciate guys! Please post more delusional fantasy about how we creeped in the playoffs, and accidently beat your asses.
See, it is these types of posts that sucks. You can't "take plays away" to make an argument. It is just silly. That run was the product of the Jets sticking to the gameplan until they finally broke the backs of the D.
Thomas Jones is a workhorse. He's the type of guy who never gets hurt, but part of the reason why is because rather than going all out to get the extra yards, he'll try to preserve his body. I don't think Tomlinson does that as much. Plus, Tomlinson is a better pass catcher and is considered a pretty good short yardage back. I think the Jets' combo of Jones and Greene last year was too redundant, and they realized that. LT can really catch the ball, so if Leon wasn't ready, he'd be a better compliment. http://www.jetsdaily.com

Ok fine, LT is a better pass catcher. Does that work for you now? I know I know, he's a running back, but you can at least admit that pass catching plays a role. Either way: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/12/rumors-swirling-that-tomlinson-will-sign-with-jets/
FYI, if your aunt had balls, she'd be your uncle... FYI... this is called CHOKE A loss by one is the same as a loss bby 20... its a loss... maybe they just got beat by a better team, and the JETS are better than everyone gave them credit for...
When you only have 10 guys willing to make the tackle.....you're at a disadvantage. You guys knew Cromartie wouldn't make the tackle either, which is why you blocked everyone except him. That run was a product of a great play-call. I became a Chargers fan in the offseason of 2001. They went 1-15 in 2000. The Bills went 8-8 in 2000.
He isn't supposed to put up anywhere near the same number of yards. He will be a backup. Jones had he stayed would have been a backup too..maybe number 3. Tomlinson will put up more yards in that capacity then Jones would have. Tomlinson has lost a step and is still faster than Jones ever was on his best day. It's the line that made Jones (obvious by what he didn't do hus first year here) and it is the line that will make Tomlinson look 25 again too.
Winfield got hurt @ the end of the year and the Vikes started to get lit up in the air without him. And Towards the end of the year Favre took a LOT of hits. He must of gotten put on the ground over 20 times in the saints game, it looked like his career was coming to an end. And ok the defensive line thing I thought Kevin Williams was alot older. I knew Pat Williams was up there and figured Kevin wasnt far behind.
Well it's not exactly hard when you're down to your fourth DT for the year (in a 3-4 defense), and when our d-line is made up of a bunch of guys that got cut from other teams.
One thing you have to understand about run blocking, is the idea is to get the back to the second and third level, to guys he is bigger and stronger than. So of course in any scheme, you would try to make sure the only people he has to face are CBs. On that play, and I can see it in my head a bit, the blocking was just perfect, with Hartsock delivering the final big block on I believe Eric Weddle, leaving a CB, Cromartie, to try and tackle Greene running full speed. This is ideal, and exactly what the play calls for. But let's give the blockers some credit, yes they can double team one player. But for the most part, it is one on one, leaving the RB to finish the deal, and hopefully not against a DE or NT.
