I with you on this. He is the only guy i trust on ESPN and isn't utilized enough during the draft season. What he said about Clemens in 06 eased my doubts about drafting him.... My idea is that I'd like to have what Cleveland does, two QBs who can lead a team at any time. I want to give Clemens this year as well, but i'm scared that he may be shell shocked due to Adrien Clarke and friends. David Carr may have been a good starter for 9 years, but Houston's O-Line scrambled his brain. I don't want the same thing here, so i think if we have no choice, draft Ryan as the just in case.
Very good post over all. I feel KC can be the guy. He has the tools to make plays. Now we get to find out just how much faith the Jets FO has in him in the up comming draft. Though I would not mind being in a Browns type situation, choosing between two good young QB's. Better than hoping one of the two you have finds a way to get the job done any day of the week.
yeah, i agree with you two about having a "good problem," that being 2 QB's who can start. hey, it worked for San Diego and it looks like it's working for the Browns (although Quinn is still a ?). at the same time, that doesn't mean it'll always work. i feel like Rivers and Quinn were more sureshots at the next level than Ryan projects to be. but that's just me. and if i'm feeling that at all, then i wouldn't want to "waste" the pick when it can be spent elsewhere, on a player who can make just as much - if not more - of an impact. in the end, every pick comes down to a crap shoot, so it's virtually moot... but, like i said before, if Ryan was in previous drafts with the QB's like Eli and Rivers, or Young and Lienart, then he wouldn't be so highly touted. Brohm, Woodson, Flacco, etc all have potential to be good QB's, and i think that's why Ryan is considered the best -- because he's better than them; which makes him the top QB by default.
