I think he'd want to draft his own QB. I don't see him coming here unless he's given personnel control. It makes sense. No "hot" coordinator is going to turn this mess around.

Don't get me wrong I would be ecstatic to get a guy like Payton here.
That team has been an offensive juggernaut under Brees and him, and while Brees is obviously the guy doing it on the field - I think Payton deserves a lot of the credit for helping get to the next level. They also seem to be good at developing receivers.

Now throw in Brees also to mentor Petty and I am all in

I was watching this game, and Brock sailed a few passes, and threw 2 picks (one wasnt totally his fault) and he gets yanked for a dude that has barely played and hasnt practiced in weeks.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has an epic meltdown vs KC and rolls on........

Seriously? Coughlin? How old is he?70? A guy whose coaching career was made by two miraculous 4-5 game streaks and the other years littered with late season collapses and regular season failures? No thank you.

Win loss record is not the only determination of whether a guy is a good coach or not. Second, I'd rather have the 70-year-old who I know is a good coach over the hot shot coordinator that doesn't possess the skills to be a good NFL head coach. As I said, I wish he was younger and I'd rather have Patyon, but I'd rather see Coughlin over the trash we have now or an OC/DC whose only going to be hired because his team had one good season.

Bowles never had the credintals to be a head coach to begin with.He was a coordinator for 2 fucking years...Not sure what made him a candidate but he shouldnt have been one from the beggining

    Just our luck

LA Rams courting J Gruden....grr He hasnt said yes tho

Lets just call a Spade a Spade

There is PLENTY of talent on EVERY NFL team even the Browns and 49ers

The BEST CS and FOs use that talent intelligently and also get rid of the dead weight including the "superstars" and bump bad HCs

    management is key imo

    +100000

With the money spent on players in todays market you don't want your team to be a HC training ground

Then once you get a winning CS you promote from within like the Giants with Mcadoo

Economics. Empty seats don't buy hot dogs and beer. Empty seats don't pay for parking. Empty seats don't buy jerseys, neither do disinterested guys channel surfing at home instead of watching the Jets.

The NFL is blessed with 31 privately held teams that do not have to publicly report their financials.

How does sitting them do anything? They are the highest paid players on the team and Woody isn't paying them to sit.

the only thing that could make this team worse would be a horrible uniform change to helmets that fade from one color to another like these fucking gems this franchise of morons currently has.

Wow, sign me up. This seems like it's coming out of nowhere.

92-65(.586 win%) as a head coach with an offense ranking outside the top 10 in yards once, and has never ranked lower than 12th in points.

Maybe he flops without Drew Brees. I'd hedge my bet with him for a fourth round pick over any of the other first year head coaches/former defensive coordinators we'll probably hire if Bowles gets canned.

If I'm him, I definitely don't want to come here though.

It won't hurt to trade a pick, it would just be wasted by the FO anyway. Maybe another kicker. More importantly I don't know why anybody would trade for a coach unless you were ansolutely sure he wanted to be here. He could just sit back and walk away when the money dries up.

You play the young guys to get them experience and see what we still need in FA / the draft. The overpaid veterans who won't be here next year do not need to be evaluated.
