Well its time to follow the NFL as a whole then. He is injury prone this year. He injured his knee early this season and has started only 5 games for the 49ers. He has a total of 14 receptions this year. Do you think those 14 receptions would have put the Jets offense over the top??? Bottom line - Edwards has had a lost season this year and signing him would have been a disaster for the Jets offense.
We don't and we wouldn't. This thread is simply a test to see how many of you are dumb enough to actually support such and asinine idea.
It's time to understand the meaning of injury prone. Having a knee issue one year does not make someone injury prone. Then assuming he gets the same bad break in a totally different situation is weak at best Someone is injury prone if it is common for them to have injury issues. Braylon has been around long enough to know that he hasn't been injury prone in his career. A better point of contention would be asking if he can ever be the deep threat he was in recent years again.
Who is to say he would of gotten hurt with the Jets? You never know. You can play the what if card all you want but he still could of came here and done just as well as last year or better. He sure as hell would of made this a more vertical offense but im not sure we would be #1 in the red zone though without Plax. Most of us are happy enough with Plax though.
Some people are great coordinators but not good head coaches. Look at what wade phillips did for the texans defense. Norv Turner would be a guy that fits that description too.
Let's wait and see what happens. If somehow we go deep in the playoffs....we, say, get to the afc championship with all the problems we have then all the Shotty haters are going to have some thinking to do.
You are missing my point. I guess I should not have used the word "injury prone." The point is he has been hurt all season and has been completely ineffective. It is hard to say the Jets have missed a player who essentially missed this entire season.
Correct, and the Jets were very smart to let edwards walk. Great decision to remove the distraction that is braylon edwards who doesn't take care of himself and has been ineffective for the niners.
Just out of curiosity, how do you fire a guy midseason who won you a division title last year for the first time since 2003, and who is running an offense without Jamaal Charles and Matt Cassel but still has the team at 5-8? It's not a good record but considering the circumstances how can the coach be held responsible for the horrible horrible play of Tyler Palko?! In addition, Sparano has the Fins playing pretty well lately, what's the logic behind the midseason change there?
I was thinking the same thing, they also lost Eric Berry for the year in like week 1 or 2. Makes me wonder if there is more too it. I also don't understand shades, if you were going to fire him why not do so during the bye week? The Phins are just a disaster.
I think for The Chiefs it was a number of things. Haley has had at least one other public incident involving his temper lately and his team looked out of controll as well yesterday. I would guess soemthing like the ownership thoguh he was losing controll of the locker room. For the Phins, it comes down to Sparano was always on his way out from the moment thier owner flew out to court Harbuagh. Now that the Jags and Chiefs have fired coaches they did not want to get behind in shopping for a big name FA coach like Gruden or Cower.
Mark NEEDS someone who will get the best out of him without being to harsh, Mark has a sensitive personality & does not do well with acerbic coaches like Haley. That's why with Tom Moore having a more calm demeanor & being more involved Mark has played better. The best scenario would be for schotty to get a HC job & Tom Moore agree to be our OC & groom Mark for the next 3-5 yrs.

Bill Muir is the Chiefs OC. I think he calls the plays, so you can't blame yesterday totally on Haley. Plus, they lost Jamaal Charles, Cassel, and Eric Berry for the year. Haley would probably be an upgrade over Schotty, but with Tommy Moore in house, I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
