no he can't. How many times does it need to be said? He's not a fullback.

McClain is 30 lbs heavier than Gerhart. Gerhart is a running back and nothing more.

In 08 McClain was leading the team in rushing yards as a "fullback". So rather than being a blocking dominant FB as others are suggesting, a similar role to McClain in 08 (NOT 09) would have him getting a fair share of carries while occasionally being used just to block.

And wow I totally didnt realize McClain was that much bigger than Gerhart

Le'Ron McClain is a "fullback" - he's a tough runner and an excellent lead blocker. He was used to block more than you think. The Ravens' staff just wanted to develop Ray Rice behind McGahee and McClain.

In 2008, Rice and McGahee split carries behind McClain and ended up carrying the ball a combined 277 times. That's a lot of blocking for Le'Ron.

Ah wow, I was trying to read up on the Ravens 08 season so I dont really remember it. Read an article that made it sound like they lined him up @ halfback alot, with a mix of the other positions

I know McClain is an EXCELLENT FB and I wanted the Jets to make an offer @ him when it was rumored he was getting a 2nd round tender (which he didnt)

Had no clue he had to block that much n 08 though on top of getting almost 1000 rushing yards. Thats just crazy

Just think, if the Jets got the 2nd for Leon, and picked up Gerhart with it, there would be a triple Doak Walker Award backfield, for whatever that's worth.

It'd probably be one of those things the announcers would point out all the time.
(Like "The Jets have 4 first round draft choices in their offensive line" )

does Gerhart have a neck rash?

our med staff should look into this before we draft him.

Henceforth, he will be known as GERSTOTT. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.

Those of you who want Gerhart around the mid 2nd round and use him as a fullback are out of your mind....!
