Browner is a penalty machine. Might as well keep Kyle Wilson out there.

The trend is everyone has money to spend with the cap increase so everyone is getting inflated salaries. Only way we can trump the Pats are through a guaranteed salary

14M per year, guaranteed for 3 years.
    I'm in...

If we sign him, he'll be on the team all 3 years anyway.
Nothing about his history suggests he'll be content collecting money without putting in the effort.
and in 3 more years, avg players like Jackson and Maxwell will be making 14M. that's how the CB market has been growing, and will continue to trend.

$14 million for, arguably, the best cover CB of all-time seems pretty reasonable in a market that paid Maxwell, what, $11 mil/yr?. It would be nice to have some flexibility in year 3 of that contract, but after years of austerity, the Jets need to learn how to pay money for value.

I mean Maxwell just got 6/63 from the Eagles, but still. 15M a year and to make the entire contract guaranteed? This would be the only feasible way to get Revis back on the Jets. Would you offer this?

That's a service Sheldon Richardson might not attend.

If the Pats get rid of Browner today Revis sweepstakes is over and that certainly is how it's looking.

The best anti-Revis argument, which is not being made, is not about Revis' absolute value but about his relative cost.

In the abstract, I think Revis is absolutely worth $14-$15 million for 3 years. The question is whether there are CBs out there that would be a significant help over the next 3 years? And by legitimate, I mean legitimate number 1 or high 2 CBs, forget about whether some #4 CB commanding 750k is a better value than Revis. Cromartie is getting up there in age, and I think as time goes by the difference between revis and cro gets bigger, in favor of revis. Is Cro somebody who could contribute to a 2017 Jets team if we are able to turn it around in 2 years and make a playoff push? I doubt it.

I really think the only argument that could be made, if relative cost is the metric, is Culliver. If Revis makes $14 mil and Culliver wants $9-10 mil, then you'd be nuts to want Culliver. But if Revis wants $15 mil and Culliver wants $5-$7 mil, then it's an interesting debate, assuming that the Jets would actually USE that extra savings to spend on their roster rather than letting it sit in Woody Johnson's bank account.

Just found out option deadlines are today at 4 .. So if revis and browner options aren't picked up in 15 minutes, both free agents.

Indeed, but if they had a deal in place, I would imagine an announcement of a restructure would take place. I am starting to think he walks.
