I defended what the man did here, you guys all acted like he was Rich Kotite which wasn't fair. I never, ever said he was a great coach but I rightfully defended what he did here b/c he did a good job for us.
I can count on zero hands the number of times I saw you be critical of Herm's regime prior to the 2005 season, junc. And even when it was obvious that Herm had to go that season, your canned response was 'it's time for a change'. I get it, you don't like our coaches explaining what was pretty obvious - Rhodes was too full of himself to bother learning Rex's defense. But it tweaked the CS and I don't blame them for showing it.
we knew about it. the average fan that doesn't come to a jets message board every day has no idea. if it wasn't about the fans how was it PR BS? please, please don't say it was to attract free agents.
I criticized Herm plenty, that went unnoticed b/c I was always busy defending him thanks to other fans acting like he was Rich kotitie.
he destroyed KC? he led them to their first postseason in 3 years but he destroyed them. They did well w/o him last year too, right? carl Peterson destroyed KC and injuries destroyed us in 2005- by the way he wasn't our GM anyway.
This thread is great for reminding me why I have junc on ignore. Anyway, Thurman's comments fit into the overall assessment that this year's secondary will be awe inspiring. I am such a huge fan of Leonhard and Revis. Cromartie is a definite upgrade, and the rookie will rotate and nickel package, i expect. Poole changing out Sherry, given all the useless turmoil from last year, has to be an upgrade, too. I haven't been this excited since 99.
Pre-Herm Era 2003: 13-3 2004: 7-9 2005: 10-6 3-Yr record: 30-18 Herm Era 2006: 9-7 2007: 4-12 2008: 2-14 3-Yr Record: 15-33 He flipped the organization upside down. Sure he wasn't the GM, but as a HC, you have a lot of say in what to do in the off season. He set the organization a few years back. They are now in a rebuilding mode and the mess he has left, will take them a couple years to gather their senses. Games are won in the trenches, something Herm ignored constantly through out his career as a HC.
pre Herm era they made one playoff app in 2003, they missed in '04 and '05. he guided them to postseason in 2006 despite a much less talented roster. That team has not win a playoff game since 1993. Carl Peterson was the culprit in KC. He set the organization back from what? they made ONE playoff app in the previous 8 years then made it once in his 3 years there. 1 in 3 is better than 1 in 8, right? Herm wasn't our GM and we always had good OLs while he was here anyway w/ the exception of 2005 when we had a million injuries up front.
nah, Manning is the greatest. who cares about all that postseason stuff, the man torches the Texans in September! It's an insult to say any QB is even close to him.
