    excellent write up 1968jetfan.

    so...

    get marshall

    move lowery to FS

    draft DE and OLB

pick up RB and OL depth in later rounds

    2011: pick up jenks jr.

edit: if we don't get marshall and go for another WR in the draft, how do you weight the advantages of a deep threat vs a top slot guy? i cant decide on this. i guess if a top slot guy is there, get him. then let Edwards run deep and let keller block/catch. a good slot guy would bring the back 7 even closer to the line freeing up Edwards deep, right?

    got it!!!

I love seeing the ages next to the players because it makes me realize how all of our best and most important players are also our youngest.

With the honourable exception of T-Rich, who is a pretty important part of our offense still and if cornered, will happily tell stories of how after the combine he and his buddy Methuselah went out drinking.

    For Tanny No Charge!

My New York JETS Draft Prospects 2110 With current picks 1,2,4,5,6 and 7.. march 29th..

    Rd 1 Pick #29
Carlos Dunlap DE,FLA 6"6 286 = Exellent Size,Speed,And can add more weight to frame
Takes great angles and played in SEC..Can be a headace and people question his will to play.Someone
the jets can get rex to motivate,Therefore not a problem for the jets......

Jared Odrick DT/DE ,PENN STATE 6"5 306 = Ideal 3-4 DE who has great motor.
Safe pick that can start right away.Quiet and soft spoken which means not really REX type of guy.
Nice bull rush and will get to the RB and QB at a steady pace..

Terrence Cody DT/NT, ALA 6"5 378+ = Big Massive DT who mostly will play NT in a 3-4.
Only a 2 down player which means a risky 1st round selection..Desire to play is in question. Needs to keep a
Decent wieght in order to last..Maybe rex can help him out there.Late first, early second pick so "High risk High
    reward"Type of guy...

    Rd 2 Pick #61
Morgan Burnett S,GEORGIA TECH 6"1 210 = Love this guy. Ball hawk with good size and speed.
Good tackler and in collage and felt like he needed to help the team more,Therefore leaving assignments at times
Rex Ryan type of guy! Thats all I need to know.

Eric Norwood OLB,S.CAROLINA 6"0 258 = Another guy I love because he has first round
talent and was all time SEC sack leader.Very productive collage career.Has great smarts and will make QB's
learn his name. Not very good in pass coverage wich makes me think REX won't care much for him.But can
get to the QB.Which the jets had some problems last year doing.

Cory Wooten DE NORTHWESTERN 6"7 270= Tall, fast and strong. Can drop into zone coverage(4 int's in
collage).Leader on the field with great work ethic.Lacks Bull Rush and is more of a finesse rusher. Can be
streaky.Overall good guy for REX's system and rarely find DE that can cover..

    Rd 4 Pick # 125
Cam thomas DT,N.CAROLINA 6"3 330= Not many sacks and played for a good D-LINE in collage.
Many say because he was double teamed all the time.So in regards to that.I don't mind him being double teamed for
my team which will give our LB'S lanes to run threw..

KOI MISI DE,UTAH 6"3 262= This guy has rex written all over him.Can rush and cover.Very
Versitile and experienced.Played DT,DE and LB in collage. Can add and drop wieght for the position he covets
May get picked before 125. but to trade up a few spots is something tanny can do with ease if needed be.

Akwasi Owusu-Ansah CB,IND-PENN 6'1 205 = Comes from small school. Great size and speed.
Can return punts.4.4 speed,Great range and closes on the ball quickly.Really long arms. But went to small school
which to me doesn't matter.Needs to be more physical and no one is more in the NFL than Revis.Revis can teach
him how to be more physical.

Rd's 5 -7 Will be drafting for special teams and depth needs.

    Pick#156,
Kurt Colmen S,OHIO STATE 5"11 195=This guy is mean and would be great depth for S.TEAMS

Riley Cooper WR,FLA 6"3 215= Teams might lay off because he might go play baseball. Can strech

LeGarrette Blount RB,ORE 6"2 235=A bruisr who may change positions and move to FB.Lets just hope
that he doesn't take the meaning"Ground and Pound" literally!

    Pick#199,
Zac Robinson QB,OKLA ST 6"3 218= Not crazy about him but the jets need a backup to sanchez
and robinson will do.Arm strength not that good, has good leadership.Pretty accurate from what I saw.

Lonyae Miller RB,FRESNO STATE 6"0 220= Mark my words! Lonyae will have a better career than RYAN
MATTHEWS.Two run a 4.4 and be his size is amazing.Would love him at pick# 199.

    Jeff Byers OG,USC 6"3 295= Versatile,Smart,Tough,hard worker.Jeff is a very competitive player who
can play guard or center.Would be a great backup for mangold and may even start at guard down the road.

    Pick#236
    Leigh Tiffen K,ALA 6"1 198= 1st team all american.Played in the SEC.Accurate inside 40 yds.
Went 5 for 7 40+ yds last season.

Marcus Easley WR,CONN 6"2 210= Good size and speed. Hard worker.Good for special teams.
May work himself into lineup.Catches ball at highest point. Not good speed and route running.

    Zane Beadles OG,UTAH 6"4 312= Can't play tackle,but good run blocker.Worth a shot.Like his name too!

We don't need another young QB, we have Ainge and O'Connell too behind Clemens, and I don't think your 4th round targets will be available xxceenxx

I'd be sick if we could come away with that type of draft

The Q.B. is if/when we lose clemen's.And the value is just too good..I don't wanna put guy's that have equal or lesser value in the 4th

If we don't get Marshall, in my opinion, the draft becomes alot less effective for the team this year. I admit I'm probably dreaming in getting Marshall. though I admit if I were a real cynic I might offer denver my 1st round 2011 pick thinking there won't be a 2011 season or draft due to a lockout, but I'm not that cynical...

I'm more in favor of a deep thread/very good catch and run guy than I am a slot receiver. My philosophy on the deep passing game is to open up the running game and keep the short passes open. I think Sanchez is smart enough to learn to audible a deep route if the defense boxes up too close to the line and I'd like one guy who's a real playmaker on offense that can go deep, catch and run and has decent to great hands. In my mind there are three receivers in this draft that can do that who may be available when we draft in the first but won't be available when we draft in the 2nd.

There will be a pass rush DE or OLB available for our second round pick, maybe not the best one but an improvement over what we have. I just like the results of our draft and the overal effect on our team aot more if we get Marshall. The other problem with drafting a receiver is that it usualy takes them 2 or 3 seasons to become adept at NFL route running. With a young QB I'd rather have experienced receivers for him to throw to and then as Sanchez becomes a seasoned vet bring in the young receivers to learn under him.

I can't believe I forgot to mention T-Rich, I'd been up for about 24 hours when I wrote that, it's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :p
