i still can't say i disagree with those threads early on in the year. but he really stepped it up after the first few weeks all the way til now. i'm pretty sure everyone who was calling him a bum early on would agree
All I saw in the first 6 games was Jones not being put in the right position to succeed. The coaches have done a good job fixing that for the most part (they sometimes revert back to their week 1-6 ways and it hurts us every time). Too bad the coaches can't get everyone into a position to succeed. Maybe some blitzing, maybe some packages that involve Jones AND Washington... something more innovative than 6 man substitution packages every play.
Good job to tj. Most people were calling him a bum after preseason which was stupid, then again after the ne game. He has been consistant with the exception of maybe 3 or 4 games. I said he would rush for at least 1500 yrds and 10 tds looks like he past my td expectations and possibly will reach the yardage mark as well.
honestly though after the first few games and preseason i don't see how anyone would think he would turn it on like he has. trust me, im glad he's proved me wrong but he just wasn't running well in the beginning of the season regardless of any play-calling, bad blocking, or whatever. he wasn't hitting the hole hard or weaving for those extra 2 yards... he's done a complete 180 since then
Glad they don't go by what u think. Washington is a big play maker no doubt but TJ is having a career year and leads the afc in rushing and has scored like 90 points for us, he deserves it.
Man, Thomas Jones is awesome. He is the Curtis Martin type. Not flashy, but a great player. Actually very similar, losing a Super Bowl then joining the Jets and being great. I got a TJ jersey for Christmas, I am wearing it now with pride. Awesome.
4 straight thousand yard seasons and a Super Bowl trip is pretty good to me. I didn't say he was Curtis Martin, he is a really good RB though who has the team first style Martin had.
Jones is deserving of this award, he has been outstanding all year. The sad thing about his form this year is that we didn't show up elsewhere on the field to complement him.
