    We need a runningback badly.

Arguing that the Jet's o-line is the problem is going to get thin very quickly when we get out ot the halfway point of the season and Blaylock is averaging 2.5 yards a carry. Decent backs go for 3.4 or better even behind a bad line. Right now Blaylock isn't helping the Jets at all. They should cut him.

Well, what I took from this game was that we were not prepared.

First off, the Jets deny it, but the Patriots came out showing 4-3 defense. That was something they were not expecting especially with the way the jets only ran up the middle. That is how you screw the 3-4 not the 4-3. When you have a 3 -4, run the gut, because it's easier dealing with three de's inside then the 4 LB outside. When you have a 4-3, your going to want to go off tackles, because you have more chances breaking it outside with less linebackers in the secondary. Not only were the Pats showing the 4-3, they were blitzing like crazy. I tried to count how many times the jets went outside, but I never made it to 1. If they went a couple of times outside, and broke a tackle, the guy is gone!

Barlow needs to take the bulk of the carries. It's the only way he's going to produce. Get him some screen options or just spreading the run a little better. Blaylock has just hurt us non stop. The guy seems to only produce when it's 3rd and 15 and you run a draw. He should only be seeing at the most 7 carries a game at this point.

The Oline looked terrible till they placed Jones in. The coach has to make better in game adjustments, then waiting for halftime. I honestly think the Jets can produce in the run even with their Young, injured oline if they game plan better. I don't think any rb is going to succeed here until you really make a commitment to run the ball down theyre throat.

Clement, our RT, sucks. Our guard play was also inferior. D'Brick's run blocking still isn't that great. Our RBs are pretty slow. It's not that we didn't want to try running outside, it's that we can't. Even when we had Martin and a good line it didn't work, the better defensive teams would always cut us off (although to be fair, the Pats and Steelers are both 3-4 teams, and those are 3 of the notable games where we couldn't run outside).

I'm not going to get on the coaching too much this game. It's a new staff, and we were getting blown off on both D-line and O-line play. The players need to get better, and we need more time. This O-line will get better, by mid-season I expect the Jets to begin showing us the future (I still have my concerns with RT, but allegedly we're okay for that, atleast when we get some players back from injury).

Exactly...the pass protection is not great but a hell of alot better than the run blocking. Guys were pushing Mangold backwards all game.

I hate to think of whats gonan happen on Sunday in Buffalo after what they D-line did to Miami's O-line, which is better than ours at this point.

I mean, we do need a RB, but you're right that O-line is the main problem.

But hey, D'Brick looks pretty darn good. He may not be opening up gaping holes to run through but he's holding his own in pass pro...
