They were never 7-1. They were 8-3.

Devin Smith is our 3rd WR and he's doing just fine for his first 2 games... Fitz just needs to learn Smith's speed and build chemistry so he won't miss him when he's open anymore. Also don't forget Owusu should be back soon.

And Chan Gailey doesn't use TE's he uses Decker or Marshall as damn near our TE lol. That works fine with me.

I agree with this to an extent, but the thing about those teams is that a lot of stuff broke right for them, overall. We can be better this year than either of those teams, and not get anywhere near as far.

The hurdling stuff was insane. He was trying to leap over DB's that he outweighed by 40 lbs.

He was used the same way Dallas Clark was used in Indy, he just didn't have anywhere near as good a QB except for the year Favre was here.

I never figured out what Tanny saw in him that made the Jets trade back up into the 1st round for him. He was a good receiving TE at Purdue in a spread offense but the Jets weren't running a spread at the time they drafted him. I'm guessing it was just the combine warrior thing. The Jets never saw a great combine performance they didn't like during the Bradway/Tannenbaum era. It was like burlesque for them, with all the makeup and balloons and fan dancing covering up the fact that the performer really wasn't that good, just good at being half naked at the combine.

Exactly. Flacoo winning the SB has gutted his team. Seahawks have already lost great players and are about to lose more. Brady's $30m/yr prevents them from re-signing players like Revis. I absolutely know how much 'easier' it is when your franchize QB is throwing for 500 yards and 6 TDs every game, but in the absence of a franchize QB those $20-$30 million dollars, if spent correctly, can go a long way in assembling a competitive team.

I remember him diving head first over a couple of players and knowing he would come up with a concussion, it was so obvious.

    Fucking Keller.

It still surprises the shit out of me when I see people responding seriously to Big Blocker.

I mean, how much "my opinion is" and "people share my opinion" and "I truly believe" can you tolerate? He's a windhole and he knows enough about football to understand what he's seeing on the TV box.

The rest is him bloviating, airing his ego. The football thing is just the vessel, he discusses himself and how football relates to himself.

The Cowboys are in a weird situation. They still have the same players on that O-Line but right now they're struggling bigtime. Those guys couldn't generate a push even on 3rd and inches, 4th and goal type situations against the Saints. The Saints. That's pretty bad. Maybe it was just a game or the style of defense they played but they looked awful last week. I just have an issue when somebody says "we only allowed 2 sacks, the O-Line is great" or "Ivory is running well, our O-Line is blocking great". I don't even know how many sacks we've given up in 09 through 4 games, probably more than 2, and I can tell you 110% that the line was way better in pass protection and run blocking. Thomas Jones probably didn't have 5+ yards per carry through 4 games either. Fitz and Ivory make this O-Line look better than they are IMO. You put Geno back at QB and Stacy at RB and then let's see the whole thing crumble in terms of pass protection and running game. That shouldn't happen if you had an elite or great O-Line. The Skins are a good example. RG3 was getting killed in preseason on every play almost because he held on to the ball. They took sacks almost every play. Cousins is now in and he's completing almost every pass, it's not an issue anymore and it's not because the O-Line somehow got fixed over the weekend. I still like our O-Line, but IMO it's not close to what we had in 09 and that was sort of the point that somebody was making here that I just completely disagree with.

We did have a top o-line in '09-'10 and our current o-line has had problems finding players to play guard, so you're probably right. But only time and games will tell. Maybe Carpenter and Winters turn out to be true studs and we'll look back to now and say "Wow....we had the best o-line in the business".
