Please... this piece is unbelievable. You truly think the players just happened to be good and develop overnight? You think that the Nobody thought the Jets were going to be dominant like that this year. His defensive philosophy with quick and frequent changes and high intensity from all players. Is getting it done. Obviously Offense is not his forte neither was it for Rex or Bowles. The system is also helping the rookies settle in. Quinnen Williams has never looked more dominant and part of it is because of Saleh rotational system with the edge rusher. As pointed out, you give all the credit to JD and completely miss the credit to the coach which is bonker. Not every coach would have this success. The only blame I have is with MLF who has made poor play calling. I have nothing bad to say against Saleh
In defense of Selah, we stepped in some good crap this year and most people seem to over look it. We signed Jags like Kwon, Reed, and Whitehead to 1 and 2 year deals and they've been a HUGE part of why our defense has been succeeding. Nobody expected this because it doesn't usually happen that way. Yet here we are with a top 10 defense. Selah must have had something to do with that.
none of the players you listed are jags reed and whitehead were plus starters for their teams and came here off of their rookie contacts kwon is a pro bowl talent that just hasnt been able stay healthy
It's helped for sure, but that has nothing to really do with how Saleh has done as a coach this season. Wilson was 5-2 as a starter and just got benched. Look at the overall picture of Saleh and he's been better this year than his rookie year. BB is one of the best coaches of all time (as much as I hate to say it). If Saleh's weakness this year is losing to him, then he's doing a damn good job. Saleh winning the Miami and especially Buffalo game for example doesn't show that he's been choking in at least all the big games to me.
Saleh’s biggest mistake as a HC so far was anointing Zach the starter on day one. Though admittedly that might not have been his decision to make.
Why don't people say this more. Saleh/MLF wanted to keep Darnold – that was reported before the draft. JD was pressured by Woody & Co. to take Zach. Shanny bluffed Saleh that he was going with ZW, but really he would have traded for/drafted Lance at #2, because said he wanted an elite athlete after the draft. We were 1) bluffed by Shanny and 2) forced into nepotism. I don't believe JD was sold on Zach, not enough to take the haul of picks sitting there. No way. ...And that's why they pulled the plug quickly...they being JD & Saleh/MLF.
