Favre> Penny..Clemens How hard is that to grasp? If there is not a QB threat, how can a WR catch more passes?
The jets lost 7 games by seven points or less against a much tougher schedule with piss poor qb play. We just added Brett favre on top of shoring up our biggest holes with an amazing offseason yet Seth fuckensham thinks we still have no shot. Well that shows you right there that he is a fraud and has no clue. We win at least 10 no problem unless the coaching is incompetant.
Thanks, daddy. Yeah I forget, it's Cotch, not Coles, who was the #1 receiver, and so it clearly was always Cotch, not Coles, who was doubleteamed whenever both were on the field. When you all can finally settle who was #1 and who was #2 on this team last year when both were on the field (Coles was not hurt), let me know, so we can settle who would get double team. For Packers it was pretty much almost always Driver.
I think we will see Cotchery bust out this year, with Favre throwing him the ball. I don't think we've seen his potential just yet.
Seems like you just base everything off the previous season. You are in for a ruder awakening than any fan on this board.
I remember the days when we had Pats fans on this board that could find an argument in the dark with a flashlight. You just suck, dude. Pathetic.
So, lighten up, this just goes to show we have a lot to prove. You should be glad about it. Victory is always sweeter when everybody thinks it is so richly undeserved! Personally, this guy is just the icing on the cake when we win, in my opinion.
Alana Faneca: 31 years old Bubba Franks: 32 years old Chris Jenkins: 29 years old Calvin Pace: 27 years old Brett Favre: 38 years old Damien Woody: 30 years old Tony Richardson: 36 years old TWO of our SEVEN key offseason aquisitions fit your "mid to late 30 year olds" assessment. Son, don't come to this site if you don't have the slightest understanding of what you're talking about. You already look stupid enough for choosing the most unmemorable QB in Patriots history as your name...
Here's all you need to know, Dr. Cheesehead: Last year, Donald Driver had: 82 catches for 1082 yards (a 12.8 yard average) and 2 touchdowns. All on a team that had a 4,000 yard QB who threw 28 touchdowns Last year, Cotchery had: 82 catches for 1130 yards (a 13.8 yard average) and 2 touchdowns. All on a team that first had Pennington for a few games before underperforming so badly that he was replaced by a 2nd year, no starting experience QB in Kellen Clemens who stunk up the field, behind perhaps the worst offensive lines the Jets have had in about 20 years (and if you follow the Jets, you know that's REALLY bad). You cannot make a statisical argument that Donald Driver is any better than Cotchery....
These stats really surprised me but they are great to see. The only problem I see with the comparison however is that Brett and DD had great chemistry and respect for each other. Do you guys see Coles building that type of chemistry with Brett ?
I think 2 old vets like Brett and Lav will hit it off marvelously...C & C Touchdown Factory may not be the fastest pair out there, but they have stickum for hands.
... and who is now the Jets starting QB and just said last week (not for the first time BTW) that comparing a wider receiver to Donald Driver is one of the highest compliments he could pay. But what the h#ll does Brett Favre know about the NFL passing game
Yes, he is the Jets starting quarterback because the Packers, the experts in talent evaluation that they are, took a look at their roster and made the informed decision that they like the QBs on their roster better than Brett Favre and thus called the Jets to talk trade. How can we be arguing with someone who supports a team with such impeccable decision making skills?
Completely disagree with that but I have seen enough of Coles and Cotchery to know that they're talented WRs. Brett will turn them into stars in this league.
Alan Faneca 32 years old = overated and on the down side of his career. Pitt didn't want him anymore, should tell you something. Bubba Franks 32 years old= Are you kidding me??? There will be a dozen TE's released this week that are better than him. Chris Jenkins 29 years old= injury prone, over weight, and never played as a NT in a 3-5 system. Good luck with that. Calvin Pace 27 years old= One decent season as a starter. Brett Favre "39" years old= This is the best part, and remember these words, Favre will be the Biggest failure of all the Jets signings. The last place in the NFL he wanted to be was with the Jets to start with but I won't go into any of that you'll see for yourself soon enough. I'll just leave you with this thought on Favre, why would a team that went the NFC Championship game with a 13-3 season record not want their starting QB back???? Jet fans really,,,REALLY don't want to think about that. Damien Woody "31" years old = flat out sucks, lost his starting Job on the Lions, nothing more need be said. Tony Richardson 36 years old=??????????????????????????
You probably don't want to go there when your team has 28 players over the age of 29. The Jets have 19.
