Jesus christ who gives a shit what he did last year, unless its going to help the Jets now then move to another subject. And even if I want to make it an argument his number last year were ok, he had a rock solid D to fall back on.

People are acting like its the end of the world cuz we are 2-2. Oh so quickly people forget we were 4-6 2 years ago coming off an embarassing defeat in New England, yet that team ended up in a Championship game. We have so much time to turn this around its ridicolous.

Hell we started off 2-3 the year Favre was here and went to 8-3(obviously we dont want to remember that season but their was a bright spot....)

You cannot absolve Sanchez of his disgraceful performance, he was lifeless all day, inaccurate even when he had time to throw the ball. Every QB has to deal with this sort of stuff, but they don't gift wrap 21 points for the other team. Sanchez being good enough to win games is not good enough for a team that wants to win a super bowl. Chad Henne can win games for crying out loud, we don't need a QB who can just win games, we need a QB who can beat elite competition on a regular basis.

everyone is freaking out over the dumbest shit....sanchez isn't bad(but also not great), but he will win us games. The reason we lost was because of the o-line and schotty's terrible playcalling. Period. Not even Brady could pass with that o-line. Stop freaking out people it's one game.

The only stat that anyone can point to and say that Sanchez is anything other than one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL the last 2+ seasons is the number of wins his team has. Which I guess is alright for the short term and when he is being "clutch" but its a recipe for disaster going forward trying to build a successful franchise around him.

Denver - 40 yard pass interference call and a LT run isn't really a comeback. And Denver sucked.

    Detroit, sure.

Houston was one of the worst pass defenses in NFL history.

Nobody can disagree with that. And yes, winning games is important. But were we winning because of him or in spite of him? For the better part of 2 years, it was the latter. You deal with that because he's young and learning. But that excuse eventually wears off. It hasn't worn off yet, but it's starting to wear a little thin.

But Sanchez took the jets to 2 straight afc title games. Doesn't that count for something this season?

I agree. Who wants a QB who wins, is clutch, and wins playoff games. That is a recipe for disaster. I'd much rather have a QB like Ryan or Rivers who put up gaudy regular season stats but can't win a big game to save their lives.

For years all I heard was that Pennington was not the right guy because he put up great stats and won in the regular season but not in big games and playoff games against good teams. Now we have a QB that wins when it counts, and people want to look at his stats in a game like tonight's and proclaim that he is below average.

How about the stats in the vast majority of games he's ever played in? Are you saying you'd rather have Sanchez than Ryan or Rivers because he's been to the AFC Championship? Seriously?

Clearly, Mark Sanchez is better than Tom Brady because the Jets beat the Patriots in the playoffs.

Ryan's stats are not all that gaudy. Romo is probably the guy you want to bringing up for this type of debate. But really? You wouldn't rather have Rivers at QB than Sanchez? I'll take the guy that has been consistently good over the guy that has been consistently bad.

Really, you give me Phil Rivers and you can take Sanchez. Rivers wins games in spite of possibly the worst head coach in the NFL. I watch a ton of Charger games, used to have season tix. Rivers is a fucking monster. This team is by far and away the best team in the NFL if they somehow had Rivers.

That being said this isn't fantasy land and Rivers is not our QB. It's quite clear that the recipe that is leading to disaster is quite a few things. We wasted a 2nd round pick on a "project" on the OL and neglected it for years. Throw in a few injuries, a new starter at RT and an offensive coordinator who is about as predictable as Joey Chestnut winning the Nathans Hot Dog eating contest every 4th of July with a QB who tries to force too much and that is a recipe for disaster. I really want to believe it's because of the OL that he is really looking awful but that's 3 weeks in a row where the D or ST have made a huge play only for him to hand the ball and any momentum we had right back to the opposing team within a few plays.

Jax - throws a pick right after a Cromartie INT
Oakland - throws a pick in the EZ after Kerley set us up to put the game away
Tonight- down 10 with good field position following a turnover he throws a pick 6

Throw last year around all you want but the guy needs to stop with the terrible decisions.

And while we are at it...why does Shonne Greene get the benefit of the doubt?!?

He's not that good...even with the entire o line intact.

I can't draw any conclusions about Sanchez without a stable offensive line.

    The play calling sucks.

When I saw the "can we trade up for andrew luck?" / "rex on the hot seat?" posts this morning I offically tapped out.

A majority of this fanbase doesnt have the guts to stick with a HC or QB long enough to have any long running success. If you consider dumping a QB with a 26-15 overall record, a 4-2 playoff record (all on the road) after 2 years and 2 games for a college kid you're a fucking retard.

He didn't throw a pick against the Patriots in the Playoff game last year.
