The one thing that is holding us back is not having a good rusher ON THE D-LINE. We need blitzes to apply pressure. We need speed on the edge.
pennington lost this game as well as the browns game. remember that when we miss the playoffs by one game
I don't think anyone hates the guy, but there are certainly a contingent of Jet fans that would like the see the CS give Clemens a shot. It probably won't happen this year though, we have a .500 football team and are in the playoff hunt. You don't just throw in a rookie when you have a team in the playoff hunt. Love him or hate him though, he's not playing well, and he really hasn't been for weeks now. People can say a win is a win all they want, and its true, but you can't say that Chad is putting us in a position to win every game. You can win games in the NFL without maximum possible production from the QB position. Just ask Rex Grossman.
We're rebuilding with a largely new roster and even if we should miraculously make the playoffs we will get murdered by teams with experience playing together at a higher level. Chad is in there because one of the main units being rebuilt is the O-line with 2 rookie 1st round starters, which is almost unheard of. They need as much experience under center until that line is cohesive and has some scars together. If the playoffs are out of the question in the final 4 games, then I can see Clemens coming in for a quarter or 2 per game, but you can't have that many rookie starters on offense being led solely by a rookie QB. The idea that we are being held back is based on the idea that we ever were a serious contender for anything this year. BTW, Chad with his arm severed at the elbow and replaced by a big suction cup is a better option than Ramsey.
Really? I would beg to differ.. Ramsey has never gotten a fair shot in the NFL.. Not by the Jets, Not by the Skins... Hes a better QB than Chad..
It was a horrible performance..but he is still a much better option then Ramsey..and a much better qb than foley...much.
Mr. Foley no offense but Joe Gibbs and Eric Mangini are playing the guys who won the job and give the Jets and the Skins the best chance to win. Ramsey got more than a fair shot and he played himself off the Redskins and they couldn't get more than a 5th round pick for the guy in a league starved for QB talent.
I'll take Chad with a weak arm over Ramsey any day. If anyone else should go out there, it should be the rook. Ramsey sucks.
How can you make the jump from "Ramsey is unproven because he's never had a chance" to "Ramsey is better than Pennington, a proven QB" in one sentance? Pennington had an absolutely awful day today. Perhaps his worst in a Jets uniform (while healthy, of course.) But does that mean that we should jump ship and start Ramsey or even Clemens? Of course not. Only an idiot would think that.
Maybe that's why we'll always be a second class team even in our own city. They had no qualms replacing Warner, and Collins before that, two QBs that have accomplished more than Chad has.
