Gale Sayers was very good, but it amazes me how his "could have been" exceeds everything Marshall Faulk (19,000 yards, rush and recieving) and Bruce Smith (200 sacks isnt enough?) did. Faulk at 70 is disrespect and Bruce Smith dominated the line of scrimmage for 19 years you would think he'd be placed above a guy who only started 5 seasons. Sayers must have been pretty amazing.
10. Dick Butkus 9. Don Hutson 8. Peyton Manning 7. Reggie White 6. Johnny Unitas 5. Walter Payton 4. Joe Montana 3. Lawrence Taylor 2. Jim Brown 1. Jerry Rice
Taylor should have been # 1. Defense will never get as much respect as offense. Hutson should have been ranked higher as well.
I don't think a WR should be number 1, he's dependent upon a great QB. It should've been a QB or RB, even more so the RB. I'm shocked Jim Brown didn't make the top 10, career YPA is 5.2. That's crazy, especially considering the era he played in.
