    People are forgetting 1 thing:

We wouldn't have to give up any thing if Herm Edwards hadn't screwed the Jets by actually winning games at the end of last year when the season had been already been over for months.

I honestly believe he knew he was bolting for KC and intentionally screwed the Jets out of Reggie Bush....he's probably laughing about it now

The Texans are not nuts. They're smart. I watched every Texans' game at the end of last season. They blew big leads in virtually every game.

They were smart though. They got the #1 pick. All Herm Edwards did was add 1 more career win to his resume while screwing Jet fans in the process...

Dude you are hilarious. you keep posting stats, etc and none of it has remotely supported your point.

You also have to find it laughable that you're holding up a guy who nobody rates as any better than the #2 rb in the draft and the # 15 player overall and who many feel will go late 1st or even 2nd round, as clearly superior to a guy who is basically the consensus #1. None of that means you won't end up being right but to state it as if its lunacy to think anything else just doesn't make sense given he consensus opinions.

Who exactly are you viewing as their weaker opponents? Looks to me like Bush outgained him, sometimes by huge margins, in all but one of their marque games.

Not true, a lot of people have been whispering that White was the better back on USC all year. Heck, 4th and 2 with the game on the line, who got the ball? Bush is a freaking punt and kick returner, and occasionally makes flashy plays as an RB. Meanwhile White did the bulk of the work smashing into the defense and wearing them down. These are arguments people have been making in college, and it will only get worse in the NFL. Honestly, how many marquee players return punts and kicks? And of returners, how many actually consistently make a big impact? You can just kick or punt away from that returner if they ever become a really dangerous weapon.

Do you really want to go through draft history and see all the times the "consensus" #1 wasn't the best player in the draft, or hell, even any good?

That being said, I wouldn't draft White early. I'd get him where I could if I wanted him. And then I'd watch as he does better than Bush. Lots of top picks become busts. In fact, I think someone did a breakdown and showed that most top RBs and WRs come from the 2nd and later rounds, rather than the first. I wish I remembered the posters name or had a link, it might be on JN though instead of here.

Last First rounder was Pennington, and befvore that 1983 I believe was Ken O'Brien, same draft as Marino, Elway, etc.

1740 yards rushing at 8.7 per clip, and he's nothing but a returner who occasionally makes a flashy play at RB? Thats insulting and frankly stupid.

You keep saying that and then posting stats, but those stats don't back up anything you say.

Oregon - maybe the best team they played other than Texas. Bush outrushed him 122-111 and out received him 43-0.

ASU - White did outrush him 197-158.

Notre Dame on the road - probably the toughest game they had other than Texas. Bush outrushs him 160-26 and out receives him 35-0.

Fresno - Unbelievable game against a Fresno team that was 8-1 at the time although fell apart after this heart breaker. Bush outrushes White 294-21 (almost 13 yards a carry) and outreceives him 68-14.

UCLA - Bush outrushes him 260-154, white did outreceive 35-0.

And even in the Texas game, White's claim to fame I guess, Bush outgained him 177-124.

So what games are you talking about?

Oh now I see, to back up your theory that White has outperformed Bush against good teams, you go back to 2004 and post stats against 3-8 Colo St and 3-8 Arizona. Seriously dude, are you ok?

I saw 7 USC games this past year. Outside of the Rose Bowl, Bush got the majority of his carries early and when the games were close and White ususally closed the games out. There were several games that they were down at halftime and Bush got predominantly all the carries to start the second half. He usually would have a couple of big runs that broke the game open. Once it was clear they were going to win the game, that's when White got a ton of carries to run out the clock. To me that says it all.
