I honestly think trent Richardson will be the next MJD. hes got speed BRUTE POWER and hands with the moves and vision to back it up at 224lbs he benches 505 hes faster then 60 percent of the running backs in the NFL right now and 61 percent of all his yards came after contact not to mention hes only fumbled 1 time in 978 carries 2 in his career "1 in high school" I think he will open up the passing game and we will be a great ground and pound team. the defense will be fine under ryan its our offense that we need help at i say bring back edwards keep kirl in slot and homo holmes can stay.
If Richardson is available at #16 you wait for 9 minutes and 30 seconds while laughing about how lucky you are that he's still available and hoping someone pulls a Mike Ditka trade offer. If it doesn't come in you can take him knowing you just drafted your first blue chip offensive skill player since Keyshawn. This guy would be great for our offense and it would be nice to see a young back that can make people miss wearing green and white.
My thinking behind this is if we can fix the OLB, RT, and safety issue thru free agency. In saying this we could pull the trigger on Trent at 16 if he is there but what do we do about wideouts. Plax isnt coming back probably so do we go RB, WR in rnds 1/2. If we can get a RT and safety in free agency that will be this biggest key for this team. What Tanny does will determine the flexability we will have on draft day.
Let me preface this by saying that I don't think the Jets should draft a RB at all this year (unless TR is there at 16 and there are no great trade options available). That being said, Polk is, IMO, a Shonn Greene clone. Maybe a touch faster, but not that much of a difference in terms of style. I would stay away from him. If ANY RB should be considered it should be LaMichael James, if he falls into the 3rd round. I think he is the type of dynamic play maker who the Jets sorely need. By that point 2 of OL, OLB and WR/S should have been addressed. Ag
