DISCIPLINE, that is what Buffalo lacked. They indeed where emotionally charged, but because of poor discipline that translated into a whole bunch of unnecessary and stupid penalties. some where an absolute momentum killers. NE is still the class of the AFC East, but Ill be damned if I think they are unbeatable. It takes patience, better game planning and DISCIPLINE, the very ingredient that Rex's teams always seem to lack.
As the Patriots proved in the SB and yesterday's game, you can't get pressure on Brady if he doesn't have the ball.
Especially no huddle two step quick throws ...which they did all day yesterday...the def line didn't have a chance ...59 passes... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
But if you have his receivers blanketed with great corners like we have, he won't be able to get rid of the ball so quickly. An extra 2 or 3 seconds to wait for a guy to get open translates into pressure and sacks . We both know every game is unique so to look at last years SB or to 1 or 2 games in a season and think every game is going to go the same is fooling yourself . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So, the Buffalo offense battles back into the game with 4 minutes to go and that Defensive genius lets NE march down 80 yards to put the game out of reach... Deja-poo Then he blames the Refs for the 14 penalties.
The kind of pressure Brady can't manage is the stunting pressure right up the middle. To be fair nobody handles that well but if you want to force Brady to hold the ball and take him down you need to be coming from the guards in. He's just too quick getting the ball out otherwise and the Pats offense has been engineered to give him an outlet near the seams for years now in addition to the normal outlet in the flats. If the pressure is coming right up the middle he loses the outlet near the seams.
Bills thought of that too and Brady threw for 466 yards. You can't wreck havoc when the ball is out in two seconds. Also great corners don't help when the main weapon is Gronk. Yeah, you can put Revis on him but it doesn't make a difference. Gronk is just too big and can basically box guys out of the play. And then there are those little white guys criss-crossing the field which you have to account for. People laughed when they let Welker go but Edelman is now better than Welker ever was. More surehanded at least. Dolphins fan (since 1989) from Europe. Also a realist, which is terrible for a Dolphins fan. We keep signing the wrong players to big deals year after year after year. And our QB is average, although still better than Fitzy. I appreciate good players so always try to watch games where guys like Brady and Rogers are playing. Actually thought that the Bills would take the game yesterday because Pats tend to lose early season games, but I didn't count on the fact that Brady is mad right now at the league. That's not good for the rest of the league.
The best way to beat Brady is by keeping him off the field. It takes a team with great offense that has moxie, patience and the ability to run and gas their defense. Once you are in defense, all you can do is try to slow their offense down, and the only way to slow things down is to rattle Brady, get inside his head and make him loose his rhythm. The Giants prove that, but it's damned hard. It takes four people up front that can totally disrupt their OL. You also need fast and strong LB to cover the middle that can somewhat keep up with Gronk and the two white dwarfs. Huge challenge. That is much easier said than done. Having said all that, the number one thing the Pats proved in the SB is that had Pete Carrol used his brain instead of his ass with the goal line call the Pats would have never, ever left the field victorious. But they were always in the game thanks to Brady.
Again, more rookie coach platitudes. This guy has been an NFL coach going on 16 years now, with this being his 7th season as a head coach, and it's acceptable to hear that he's just now recognizing this? Then classic sucking up to the fans: The best is that he'll get them together eventually, and look like gangbusters. But they better hope he rides that to a SB rather than just a contract extension, because it'll revert eventually. The progress they make won't be because Rex is learning, it'll be because he's a great defensive coach with very good defensive players - the same thing that's given him success at every other stop in his career.
Rex is a very generous guy..... probably paying his peeps from all the money he earns from those foot fetish vids. I heard that that industry is really difficult to get a foot in the door. And you've really got to 'toe' the line if you're gonna be a success. I do not apologize.
Oh, I caught the "big picture" - the big picture was that a bunch of butthurt Jets fans wanted to bitch and complain about Rex while they had an opportunity. And my response was to demonstrate why at least a portion of their argument was demonstrably foolish (RE: penalties). I upset the applecart; yes, I know, I'm the worst person ever. If I were a wiser man than I am, I might suggest that the big picture should be that Rex lost to the best team in the league by 8, while once again starting a bottom 5 NFL starting QB (a situation completely outside of his control), who threw three interceptions that hit his receivers in the hands and were tipped ... but I'm not that wise.
who's butthurt? everyone seems to be relieved that we are not replaying day 1 after patriot week again. and yea, the only reason they lost was the 3 turnovers, which btw is also a reoccurring theme under rex. everything that happened yesterday is the same shit that led to his dismissal here. thanks for 2009-2010 but the act got old and the mistakes were constant. time to move on and not at all worried about him in orchard park
brace yourselves for rex repeatedly saying they can't let the patriots beat them twice leading up to this weeks game. also, I'm sure they're going to have a great day at practice tomorrow ... possibly the best practice they've had all year.
