did you watch the game? they could've called 20+ penalties on Buffalo. Brady is a whiny bitch but that don't change the fact that Buffalo showed a complete lack of discipline in that game.
Without the 3 interceptions they probably win the game...poor rex doomed to never having an even halfway decent QB in his coaching career.
I don't think it's 70,000+. I was curious about their reaction yesterday, so I took a look at 3 different Bills forums last night and the vast majority were hammering the shit out of Rex. I'd guess there were the same amount of posters on those forums as there are Jets posters defending him here. I had just assumed that the majority of Bills fans felt the same as the small handful of superhomers that come here and post garbage. Not really the case.
???? hell no. I know thats the usual Rex Ryan fan club excuse but thats not the story of the game at all. not even close. Tyrod Taylor actually played pretty well. 1 of the interceptions was in desperation before the half and the other was in desperation at the end (should've been caught by Watkins anyway). He looked good IMO. The story of the game was Rex's vaunted defense being just dominated by the NE passing game.. 500 yards from Brady without breaking a sweat. NE didn't even show any desire to run the ball, not even caring one bit to even fake the run as they took that defense behind the tool shed and raped them. also the lack of discipline killed Buffalo. we're talking about taunting penalties, personal fouls, unsportmanlike. stupid penalties all game. There was this sequence. NE kicks off to Buffalo with the game tied at 7. Holding penalty on the return Buffalo starts their drive from the 10, 3 and out with a sack. Delay of game getting the punt team on the field (a Rex Ryan specialty) and Buffalo punts from inside the 1. Edleman gets a nice return and gets late hit of course. NE had their choice of 2 personal fouls on the play accepting 1 of them. With the penalties and the return they start the drive at the Buffalo 13. two plays and its a TD. and yet. ..a buffalo player TAUNTS them on the XP!!! taking on another 15 yards on the kick. 14-7 NE. just pathetic.
He had the chance to make a real push for a job with a real QB and he chose the Bills instead. His obsession with beating Belichik is real.
I think Rex is all about motivating and no substance. I think Rex believes that "being disciplined" goes against being a players coach.
We may have dodged a bullet on this one too. If Rex takes the ATL job, then Quinn perhaps takes over in Siberia and now we're stuck with a real professional HC in Buffalo with all that talent they have on that roster.
No QB though. And from our point of view I'd rather have Rex in Atlanta and whoever coaching the Bills. If anybody can beat us without a QB it's Rex. Remember that he can't mindlessly run the ball 40 times against our defense and lose a tight one. He's going to have to actually think about trying to beat us with a balanced attack even with a subpar passing game.
Well, the new Buffalo ownership certainly got what they wanted in Rex. A Carnival Barker that brings in the rubes, gets the local media in a frenzy and as a bonus, keeps the NYC media engaged at the same time. No matter the record, its a win/win for the FO and the new owner. I can see them setting up the big tents and funnel cake stands now outside Ralph Wilson.
Point taken. But I just have this feeling that Dan Quinn could do a lot more in Buffalo than Rex can. Rex would have done wonders for ATL though. That may have been his best shot for a ring or at least another CCG.
So after basically murdering two teams to start the season (while being the defending champion) you somehow come to the conclusion that the division is wide open? Are you a stand-up comedian or just a homer? Here's a hint why it's not wide open. Fitzpatrick starts for the Jets. He's the worst QB in the division although still a massive improvement over Geno. Winning games with him consistently against teams with good QB's is pretty much impossible. There's a reason he's played for a million different teams.
they already have great entertainment outside the stadium. Rex might be the circus ringleader but there are plenty of candidates to play the role of stupid clown act in the parking lot
I'm far from a homer my friend, I'm a realist . Fitz has a defence that take pressure off him by being built to keep games close and rely more on the foot of Folk then the arm of himself. Now that's all on paper and remains to be seen. Fitz also has better weapons and a better offensive line then he's ever had on any teams throughout his career . He's also got an offensive coordinator who he's had the most success with throughout his career. Again, remains to be seen if this translates into wins. The Patriots are beatable and the way you do it is to get pressure on Tom Brady . With our D-line we are built to wreck havoc on opposing QB's this the recipe for success is there. Again, it needs to translate into the field . To sit here and assume the Pats will run away with the division by default is making you look like the homer . I'm not sure if you're a Jets fan or not but the Patriots should get a ton of respect for their accomplishments over the years . I'm just saying all the ingredients are here for us to be a force and challenge for a division title . The best part is we will find out within the next 15 weeks or so who's the last team standing . Rex with a big QB would be a very scary thing to watch but I think taking the Bills job basically ended his head coaching career. If he pulls a rabbit out of the hat up there and wins a Super Bowl he'll be Mr. Buffalo until he wants to retire and if he doesn't he's going to wind up in the booth somewhere doing the thing he does best of all.
