BAN Champ74. He is a troll. As for the game, I am not worried. Unless the Jets want to prove they aren't that good, I believe they are though. Jets win with ease.
And what a great dimension for them to focus on. Their passing offense has been terrible with the exception of one huge play to Donnie Avery a couple of weeks ago. Assist deep on coverage of Avery and limit those plays and we're fine.
I wasn't worried before the Raiders game. Now I don't know if I'm capable of ever being not worried about a Jets game again.
I wouldn't say I'm worried, but I don't expect to walk all over them. We just don't have that type of coaching staff. Mangini plays everything close to the vest and the Defense gets conservative when we're winning big, which allows games to stay close. If we win fine, but it most likely won't be in blowout fashion. After watching the Buffalo game and listening to the players' reactions, the team's confidence level feels elevated right now - elevated in a good way, not to be confused with arrogant. I think they're beginning to realize how good they are/can be, and the locker room leaders are starting to emerge. We should and probably will win this game. That said, anyone know the odds of which Ram no-name/rookie/journeyman will have his breakout, career-high day?
You should expect to walk all over them. Thats the problem with the Jets and their fans. They don't have that winning swagger. Favre is trying to bring it to the Jets and their fans. I am on board. We should and will win this game. Then go to New England and try for the same.
It's not the players I distrust in terms of stomping another team; it's the coaching staff. Mangini and Co. lack the killer's mentality, more so on Defense. All too often, they playcall to protect leads rather than increase them.
Yeah, its true. Its hard to trust that a team can dominate another when they haven't played a complete (mistake free) dominant game all year. Bills game was good, not quite mistake free. Cards game was great, but allowed 35 points.
Yep. The Cards game could have been one of the biggest blowouts in franchise history. I'm glad we won, because that's what matters. But it's not exactly encouraging when you see them cut the deficit to 13 in the 2nd half. To me, the Bills game was the closest thing to a dominant performance we've had in 1.5 seasons. It was virtually complete, with a few kinks here and there. Favre's INT made it look much less dominant than it was.
This is true. But they still haven't lost and they've looked solid in their wins. They showed that they have the ability to win the close ones too, as they did last week against a pretty good GB team. It's a couple weeks away, but I think we match up well against them, especially if we can get pressure on the statue, Kerry Collins. The only way I see him beating us, even if he's pressured, is by getting rid of the ball quickly enough to those underneath routes over the middle that we can't seem to guard.
The Titans game is when we need Favre to light up. The titans have a good run D. Nonetheless they haven't really beaten a quality team. The colts? But the colts aren't really a quality team this year.
Yeah you're right; Collins is averaging pretty small numbers, so you know that's how they're going to attack us. They're definitely a solid team. I'd say we have a better chance of losing to NE than to Tenn.
Right, that's the only game I can think of that showed they're legit; but even that, the Colts just aren't the Colts this year. Agreed, Favre needs to be at his best that game. Strong, smart throws, and if need be, let the D's and ST's battle it out. Eventually, he'll have to come up with some big throws though to move the ball because, as you said, the running game will be hard to get going. Perhaps more than anything else, the Titans game will be the best test of how good our OL is because their DL is a force.
I can't wait for White and Johnson to be introduced to Mr. Jenkins. That puts the onus on Collins to beat us. Good match-up is right.
Haha yeah, I was actually just about to post something similar. Not that FF has anything to do with the Jets as a team; but I can't wait to see all the Chris Johnson and Lendale White owners who start them vs us, unaware of how stout our Run D is.
Yeah. Feels like a trap game. I just want a win -- not necessarily a beat down -- save some energy for NE.
