I was just thinking about this, unreal. If we let a guy out of the building that put up those numbers for a kid that had not barely seen the field and this happened, woof that would be brutal. Minnesota let Cousins go too who was awesome there, going to be a long road with JJ.

Damn right on that one. Jets fans would tear Met Life down if "we" had a guy putting up the numbers Darnold did last year and management let him walk. I think you'd have a full blown mutiny! TBH, I think Jefferson (Minny) might hold his own "sit out." LOL!

Just makes you shake your head, though, right? These people are supposed to be professionals but a whole crap ton of them certainly don't act like it. There are a number of teams that are just pure shambles and you have to sit back and wonder how it happened. Tell you one thing though, EGO is a real problem when it comes to the coaching ranks. I understand how you need a certain amount of ego to be a player but that will get you fired so fast, as a coach, it's not even funny.

To be honest, taking into consideration our own situation, this little part of the equation is what is going to either make or break our own HC. If A.G. can put his EGO aside, realize he's no longer a player, and LEARN from his mistakes this year. He certainly has the opportunity to be a good head coach. Clock management, situational football and when to do/not do the crazy things like going for it on 4th and 2 from your own 40. Those are all things that can be learned. Hell, no one would give him shit for bringing on help. If you know your limitations get one of the staff to serve as a clock specialist. It's been done before. There are all kinds of solutions that help you learn and grow, as long as your EGO doesn't get in the way. Let's face it, the real "talent" in the HC/management positions is being able to spot talent. That's the real skill that I would think is more a natural thing rather than learned. Everything else just requires a bit of self-reflection and spending the time to learn the correct way.
